I effing hate Polievre with the flame of a thousand suns. Fuck him for importing US style hatemedia, US style obsession with rally size, US style bullshit. Fuck him. He’s such a fake transparent POS I’ve only ever seen him smile this election cycle, he trots out his Venezuelan escualido* beard as if she’s gonna be “First Lady” as if she is anything at all - fuck HIM!! I hope his party eats him alive once he loses this fucking election. I’ll relish that.
*right wing Venezuelan who hates socialist anything
Wouldn't it be so nice if he didn't win his riding? That is my ultimate desired outcome of the election.
I’ll literally jump for joy of that happens. It would be a gift. Are we allowed to have that kind of hope???
I heard a rumour that his ridings demographic has changed recently and that there's a possibility he won't win. I didn't look into it any further because I'd rather just believe it.
PP is running in Carleton. Apparently he does squat for his constituents. I could see the riding going full liberal. Given 338 the poll aggregator is predicting a liberal majority… I’d freak out with joy if PP lost his seat….. or maybe it’s just massive copium? But still - I can dream.
Is there intentional gutting of education in Canada? I think the reason as to why Americans are more susceptible to propaganda is because their education system is being undermined, whereas Canadians are more smarter because of better and free education.
The other responder isn't correct, but I'd say there is definitely a push for all the problems in American education. The former Minister of Education in Manitoba went to Tennessee for ideas on funding higher education. I've also heard of pushes for chartered schools and being able to transfer school taxes to the institution of your choice. All of these ideas promote a disparity in education which generally favors the wealthier.
We are smarter in that more of us have gone to postsecondary and we all have access to a great free elementary and highschool experience. Relatively the same quality same all over the country…..no matter where you live. But the US creep of stupidity and ignorance seeps up here too.
