Chat, is this real?

yes.

and we're seeing it now because two days ago he wrote a long tweet (something only people who pay for twitter can do) musing about why so many people have been failing to understand that he was joking for the last eight years.

Wow xitter sounds even xittier than I imagined.

I get it, I'm also confused that not even the vine thing was enough to clue a bunch of people in this thread in.

It's just some light-hearted trolling. Pretty sad that the dude gets so much hate for something so harmless.

what's the joke?

Edit:

ok i read his explanation. so it was a joke to him. not to anyone else. i guess i can respect that, even though i don't see the likeness without peels either.

the “joke” is the lie is so stupid, it shows that anyone that believes he could believe potatoes are almost apples are the real stupid ones….

the same game any compulsive liar is playing.
“oh you actually believed that! hardy har har… just a little troll…”

So you really think that he believes that both apples and potatos grow on vines. Wow.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

so you really can’t read and took the exact opposite from what i was saying?
or is that your super clever troll technique?

not if your “joke” is just lying in a “funny” way

[–] [email protected] 0 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Which isn't the case here.

“lying” means “saying something that you know is untrue with the goal of deceiving someone into believing it”

You can lie as a mean joke on someone's expense (haha look at that idiot believing my lie)

But if you don't actually intend to deceive someone beyond the end of your joke, you're not lying. You're joking.

But if you don't actually intend to deceive someone beyond the end of your joke, you're not lying. You're joking.

you’re just a compulsive liar with a pinch of rationalization… but you still get off on deceiving people… even if you ‘intend’ to let them know you were lying… as a ‘joke’… haha….

the ‘joke’ being that you find it funny when you successfully lie to people, but when caught, “it was just a joke, bro”.

oh hey, let me think of all the classic, hilarious jokes that involve lying to people… hmmm… i guess most people don’t do that, unless it’s a setup for a punchline….

everyone hates compulsive liars.

Hahahahaha you literally couldn't have picked a worse candidate for that accusation.

When my dad died 19 years ago, I adopted his habit of never lying to the best of my efforts.

So you literally picked the only person you'll probably come across in your life who doesn't lie and called them a “compulsive liar”. That's am impressively big miss actually!
