I'm Australian, and burger with the lot where I come from involves the following Bun Bacon Egg Lettuce Tomato Pineapple Beetroot Meat Onion Sauce maybe. That's the minimum you expect anyway

I think the bromelain would break down the sauce, so that would be a good reason to omit it from the pot. I have never eaten raclette, so I can't provide a deeper opinion.

No sauce or pot involved in raclette (except for pre-preparing stuff like boiled potatoes).

It's basically a specialised hotplate on a table with a bunch of tiny pans. Then you put up a buffet of special cheese and other ingredients on the table and everyone get's to combine them in their own little pan and put it on the hotplate.

So really there is no good reason to ban a specific ingredient, as you can just not use it. It's mostly a joke.
