So he's appealing to ignorant people for votes?
Polling 41% would suggest it’s been working so I’m not sure why he would stop
There are lots of ignorant one issue voters.
Most people are some combination of Ignorant and apathetic, so a politician (of any stripe) usually has more luck saying something snappy and quotable rather than making some long thoughtful nuanced remark.
