“At this point, the accused admitted he was the one who started the fires and, as his main motivation, claimed he was doing tests to find out whether the forest was really dry or not,” Charron said.

Would an adult elementary school jail sentence function as a form of punishment?

Doesn't seem like a believable motivation to me. You don't need to literally light things on fire to tell when forest conditions are like a tinderbox, let alone do it 14 times. I figure this guy knew in his gut that the government was setting those fires, and if he could just find some evidence then he could crack the whole case open and people would stop calling him crazy. Of course he can't find any such evidence (because it doesn't exist) but he knows in his heart what's happening so what's the harm with creating some 'evidence' to move things along?

Agreed, totally bogus motivation.

Stay-at-school suspension for 4 years.

He could not test that by collecting some samples and using a fireplace?

Your first mistake was bringing rationality to a bonfire.

Yes. But only if they refuse to acknowledge that you're an adult and don't belong there. Otherwise it's just reading small books and adding numbers together manually.

I stopped going to my favorite breakfast resto because every morning during the wildfires they would be loudly bloviating on how Trudeau was out starting these fires to block out the sun and make it harder to grow food so that we'd be beholden to the government just to eat.

I don't relish the idea of adding insanity as a spice to my eggs and bacon. But maybe it will be time to go back for one more cup of coffee and ask their opinion on this shithead's escapades.

"How do you know he wasn't paid by Trudeau?" Just you wait.

... pleaded guilty Monday to 13 counts of arson and one count of arson with disregard for human life...

Wait a goddamn minute. What about the wildlife he killed and the habitat he destroyed?

Charge this guy with environmental terrorism and 1 million counts of animal cruelty.

Of course it's the governments fault, they never stopped me.

Sounds akin to that woman that joined the search party for herself. Yeah, that's bullshit and disastorous, but it's the Onion-tier bittersweet funny.
