Tonight I'm taking a class for Chigiri-e... japanese torn paper art. Not sure if will become a hobby but I'm getting out of the house, off my phone and trying something new. Baby steps!

RULES (updated 01/22/25)
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
- Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
- Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
- Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

I helped my nephew kind of retrobrite the plastic casing to an old tapedeck. We took out the guts from it. I de-soldered the old chewed up power cord from it. I'm going try and show him how to solder the new one onto it. Only problem is I'm going to have to figure out which side of the plug goes to which terminal. Will have to investigate further on that.
I might try to investigate joining a tabletop game some time this week. I've watch ten tons of D&D and read rules. Pretty decent at most of the rules. I just don't know if it should be that or another table top or maybe a board game.
I had some dough rising overnight. Gonna bake it today and have it with butter and honey.
Spent the past weekend hanging string lights in the backyard. Used barrel-style planters filled with cement as a stand for a 4x4, then strung them across the lawn on some light cable. Was a pain in the butt, but the final product looks good and should last a few years.
Work has been so stressful and demanding that I haven't really had the time or energy to paint minis. I managed to paint 2 ribbons and highlight some armor, and I also started painting a face which I'm very bad at. All in all, maybe 1h of hobbying broken up into 20 min bits here and there.
Watched some shows and took apart my laptop to clean it. Previous owner spilled something and a few keys are dead :( I tried but I'll need a new keyboard. I can't even get to the keyboard motherboard to diagnose without permanent damage to the unit
Still in a Football Manager hole. Wildly vacilating between trying to perfect my own tactic, reading up on published tactics to see how well I compare, worrying that I've done something unrealistic or exploitive, trying to institute a reasonable wage structure that guarantees long-term financial growth and a playing pathway for my squad players, and throwing it out the window to sign a superstar free agent who popped up in my scouting reports.
Will probably end up reloading my save from last season and starting over because I'm not happy with how my summer transfers went.
