Hey fast food workers who work the fries, I don't give a fuck if you hate salt, put the correct damn amount of salt on my fries, I don't want to taste the concept of having salt on my fries! No, I want my fries to remove all liquid from my mouth so I can guzzle down my flavoured sugar water!

You're not making me healthier by lowering my salt intake, it's fast food! I took all the veg off my burger and doubled the cheese! Now give me my salty chips god damn you!

I don’t mind unsalted as much as soggy uncooked fries. At least unsalted you can throw on your own salt. I don’t have a deep fryer to finish cooking my unfried taters.

I like Wendy's because I can ask for unsalted fries and then just grab a packet of salt to put on my desired level of salt. IDK why other fast food doesn't have salt packets so you can salt your own food, but they fucking should.

Fry salt is a much smaller grain than the salt in the packet. It also sticks better when they are fresh out of the fryer glistening with grease.

Salt is salt

Also: If you ask for unsalted fries, they usually have to make a fresh batch to satisfy your request, so it'll still stick properly.

Salt is salt

The finer grains stick to the fries better.

When i worked at Wendy’s we kept unsalted fries premade so we would not have to make them fresh.

I don't eat much fast food these days, but don't they all have salt packets??

It's often the chains that tell the workers to do this. Like Burger King changed their fries in 2011 to be slightly thicker and have less sodium.

Sir this is not a Wendy's

Having worked at McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s I can tell you what’s happening.

McDonald’s has a patented salt dispenser that perfectly salts their fries. You just dump the salt and it stops on its own. The problem is a lot of employees think they’re smarter than corporate and give it another few goes.

At the other restaurants, there’s some policy like “put X amount of salt” but it’s just a fucking container of salt and you’re supposed to magically know exactly however many grams to use. Notice I put “X amount of salt” because in those places I had no clue what the number was despite holding management positions.
