Turns out when you purposefully let it become infested with bots and make the system of proving who is real and who is fake confusing and backwards, it becomes known for that and slowly becomes useless to even the bot peddlers as more people leave and more bots arrive.
The bots are for people, not for other bots. So, if the bot to human ratio is skewed, they have to leave to where humans might actually see their disinformation.
Further, the kind of people that they need to see the disinformation aren't the rubes who are still somehow on Xitter and are easily influenced by it. Those people are already captured and need less effort put into keeping them captured. (Not to imply the only people left on Xitter are all captured MAGAs, but they're clearly the majority of what's left of the human userbase at this point)
guessing that they aren't migrating but rather expanding to try to reach those who have left the intern's service.
I guess this is a good litmus test that Xitter has indeed gone down the shitter. After all propaganda actors need to reach people to be effective.
Also a good test for how good Bluesky is at blasting that kind of crap.

By design, the bots have to be where the people are. If the only people left on Twitter are already indoctrinated, it doesn't help their cause to be over there. That place will spread disinformation all on its own.

That's the great thing about Bluesky. I don't have to deal with this bullshit as much because they give people the tools to moderate it themselves.

The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.
I used to call it propaganda or mass communication asymmetry. It also kind of falls short in the "order of magnitude" part. A newspaper publication takes many orders of magnitude more effort to refute than to spread. Memes require even more orders of magnitude.
Makes sense then.
