They failed to mention the new CEO.

It’s Connor Gaydos, the “birds aren’t real” guy.

I'm confused by this Birds aren't real book.

Is it satire? Is it a "real" conspiracy that real people believe in?

And yeah in this timeline both options are possible even simultaneously.

It's a parody conspiracy theory, in the same way as the flying spaghetti monster was a parody religion. People participated "eyes open" (aware it was parody, doing it as a joke) others adopted it "eyes closed" (believing it)

flying spaghetti monster was a parody religion.

You shut your filthy mouth or I'll get my colander, pitch fork and blood-thirsty mob.

Flying Spaghetti Monster was a parody

HOW. DARE. YOU.

It's satire, that real people believe in

[–] phoenixz 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Does this Connor dude believe in it?

I should start some imaginary conspiracy too, then write books about it, and earn loads of money from these suckers

All the countries are really very close together and the airline industry is just in on it. They're really just flying around in circles to make it seem like the trip takes a long time. The Atlantic is only about 200 miles across, Europe is basically just over the horizon.

That's what happened to Amelia Earhart, she found out about it and was going to tell everyone so they had to stop her.

The flat Earth conspiracy theory is really just a false flag operation to make conspiracy theorists look stupid. So that if anyone ever finds out about the close countries conspiracy no one will believe them.

Yeah now I'm not sure if you're being serious and really really dumb or if you're joking

The Sansui of the crypto world

Ok......see this??? See this shit??? Let's recap. Connor Gaydos, the "birds aren't real" guy, bought the name "Enron" in order to use it for a company that deals in cryptocurriencies. You know. That thing that was hot for a bit until it became obvious they were all scams.

And now this is happening.

This sequence of events, is so long in the making you'd have to back to the days of Elian Gonzalas being held at gunpoint in a Miami closet, to cover the whole debacle.

And with all this in your face absurdism, with this much history of being untrustworthy and corrupt, we live on a planet where people thought "Yeah. Yeah this is what I want. Thismay as well happen."

Do you see why I say I'm surrounded by morons? I live on the same planet that these events transpired. Even The Onion is like "GOD DAMNIT!!! STOP STEALING OUR ROUTINE!!!" as they scream angerly into general society.

This is great. Please become a journalist.

Elian Gonzalas

[–] hperrin 40 points 1 month ago

No it’s not. It’s just a publicity stunt.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

People are absolute fucking suckers. Can't fucking believe this.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

It's like intentional misspellings in Nigerian Prince emails. Anyone dumb enough to buy in is already a promising mark.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

Crypto is one of the only businesses where use of the Enron name could conceivably improve their reputation.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

Appropriate, really.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

Ars ate the onion?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is crypto still really a thing? I thought that scam had sailed.

Hell we've had a whole other GPU sink since then.
