Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Elon Musk is facing resistance from Trump-appointed agency heads who are growing "exhausted" by his haphazard directives.

After backtracking on a 5-point achievement list ultimatum, Musk has issued a new demand for weekly reports. High-level officials are openly defying these orders, with some instructing staff to ignore them.

Agency leaders complain these late-night, weekend demands create confusion, divert resources, and appear designed to "rattle and demoralize workers."

One staffer described the communications as having "psychological warfare vibes."

They have psychological warfare vibes because it is psychological warfare.

Also because he is actually unstable while doing this. I'm positive at least half of these are crap he sends on a whim, probably while high as balls. Like a bunch of crap he's sent - including the infamous thanksgiving day demand at SpaceX, where he freaked the fuck out all of a sudden about not being able to hot some arbitrary goal that he was panicking about irrationally. Told everyone that they had to suddenly work through the holiday or they'd go out of business, then sort of calmed down and forgot about it.

Edit: I actually replied to the wrong comment, but leaving it since it mostly fits here too :)

Isn't this what his employees have been saying about him for years? From what I understand, he comes up with ideas using his super genius big boy brain. He then puts insane deadlines and requirements on his employees (the engineers actually doing the work). Then, he'll want to alter the design and expect immediate compliance and ridicule them for not being as intelligent as he wants them to be.

He is running Doge like one of his businesses. But it is an entirely different thing, and shockingly moving quickly and breaking things destabilizes a govorning structure. Who knew? /s

Moving quickly and destabilizing things is exactly the move, because the folks who have to pick up the pieces and hold him accountable will do so by following process, which is a lengthier, arduous, and scheduled series of actions that will be dragged along in his wake as he barrels through the government.

The people who have to pick up the pieces is exactly the point. The tech bros already have a plan in place to be the only ones with the resources to allow people to survive under the broken infrastructure. Broken beyond repair. A series of vassal states under their control and completely beholden to them.

Man he is just annoyingly fastidious about not overdosing on ketamine

How soon until the agency heads instruct their IT teams to block/quarantine emails from the OPM?

They're trying to work these people to death.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 13 hours ago

I do they're in stabbing distance. I was raised around too many Vietnam war GIs I know how to stab real good, also I have horrific war stories.

They probably got the same email as everyone else.

But I haven't even been here for a week - same as you!

They sent the Fork in the Road email to SCOTUS. They’re idiots and it’s terrifying.
