Edit: I will not be working hard. I have learned my lesson. I will be enthusiastic and do slightly more then expected. There is no meritocracy in corporate.
Working hard is a terrible idea that leads to burn out and disappointment.
The only way to make more money most of the time is to leave and go elsewhere.

Edit: of the various vices I gave up over the last few weeks/months I think getting off reddit had the biggest impact, I'm looking to keep that up. Feels like it brings more negativity to my life than any traditional intoxicant.

So a few months ago I stole an extreme;y expensive car from hard rubbish which I hoped would be a nice gift to bro and sil and their baby to be but it has gone back to hard rubbish 1 door down :(

Had a nap after my whinge (thank you for your kind words ππ), then went to Savers and got two shirts for partner's new job, and two pairs of jeans for myself for under $50 in total.
Then got a massive haul of groceries from Aldi. I transferred $120 to my paying card but it only cost ~$50 all up for all of it. Stuck in the expensive Colesworth mind lol
Edit: oh and I applied for a few shelters as a volunteer, hopefully I can get a place at one of them as it's a requirement to have placement for the Cert IV in Vet Nursing π€πΌπ€πΌπ€πΌ

Assignments due in 10, 14, 16, 20 and 21 days. I will not procrastinate anymore. I feel like I've almost left the 10 days one too late. Time to break down each into steps and give meself some faux deadlines. I can do this.
I don't know what's better, multiple small assignments or one big hugely scary one due at the end. Good luck to us both!!

The change of seasons has well and truly finally hit. Feeling a bit of a cold-ish headache from not adjusting to the temp difference properly and returning to a whole day of desktop work after ages... Gonna buy some soup, chug hot herbal tea, and have an early night. This will be my last long work week before I throw myself at uni hardcore.

On paper, Wills is a blue-ribbon Labor seat - Bob Hawke's old seat.
But a third of voters there went Green in 2022. He should be getting out and meeting people/listening to them. They can't take this seat for granted any more.

I tried a YT short recipie for dins tonight. Mostly for shits & giggles, but it worked. Chicken 'fried' in water. I used drumsticks cos cheeep so no weeping if I had to toss it. It was quite nice. Will do this again, but with the recommended wings. Sauce was gorgeous in texture but I should have used a tad bit more chili and less mustard. Worth trying.

But not followed exactly. The sauce was amazing - if doing it again I would reduce the salt to the absolute minimum as the soy sauce does enough salt. Also the vidjo had the water boiling very vigorously, I did it at a lower temp so not so violent. Took about 1/2 hour all up. Doing this again, I'd put no more than 1 cm depth of water - ample to cook the chook, and quicker to evaporate. But this is subject to further testing.

A suicidal jam jar leapt out of the pantry to its doom on the tiles. Red sticky jammy glass everywhere. Great fun to clean up.

Today I saw a guy with a Simple Jack haircut.
Got tired of my yt-algo so I looked up how to delete my history, pretty easy actually. Hopefully whatever it re-learns about me doesn't send my down a pile of right wing kak. I'll need to watch a bunch of lindybeige and philosophy tube to refocus it on my interests.
Basic I know, but search for stuff you're interested in. I get Aviation and Naval history, Some Marvel, whatever is going on at DashCams Australia, British Panel shows/Taskmaster and maybe some Star Wars/Trek stuff mostly.
What you don't click on matters as much as what you do. Oh, I always mark Shorts as "Not Interested", even if I would actually be interested. I despise short-form videos and would disable them entirely if I could. I can kill them for 30 days at a time on my iPad.

I want to work, and yet no one gets back to me after my last round of applications.
I need a freakin job so I can afford driving lessons so I can actually get a job as an animal attendant. Oh, but I need a minimum of 2 years experience to do basic sandwich making or retail ffs.
I'm almost at the point of selling my soul back to call centre work, but thought of doing that again is making me fucking sick - tied to a desk and phone, unable to leave it, power-tripping team leaders and abusive, masturbating customers. UGH! I don't think my mental health could take it.

You have more than 2 years experience - this requirement is basically about getting to work on time on all scheduled days. Industry irrelevant.

Does anyone know of an animal rescue or shelter that takes strays?
The ones I've tried just say to contact the council and that's not going to lead to a positive outcome.
Elite cat rescue does strays, but are presently full.
