At least they get their grants cancelled and replacement parts are now twice as expensive.

Tofu revolution, tofu could be like a dollar a package. We need to start eating them here.
I've only had tofu in soups or stit fry, or coated in corn starch and fried.
Are there any good dishes where it is the main course? (Anyone have any they'd recommend?)
Tofu can be made to have any flavour you want. It's very absorbent of any marinade you give it.
One is my favourite things to make is what I call Seitofu (seitan covered tofu). The seitan acts like a protein heavy batter so they kind of become like the chicken balls you have sweet and sour Chinese with (don't know if that's a thing in the US).
- Chop up tofu into small chunks
- put into a tub you have a lid for
- cover with a marinade (I often get pre flavoured smokey tofu so I just use soy sauce or liquid aminos)
- put on lid and shake
- pour in a bit of vital wheat gluten (what becomes the seitan) and shake again
- repeat from marinade step onwards a few times if needed and depending on how thick you want the seitan to be
- stick into an air fryer for a few minutes
- separate the pieces, shake them etc
- put in again and repeat until they're as crispy as you want then to be
They're a lovely high protein snack to just munch on their own or great in Chinese style dishes like I mentioned earlier. You can also use a conventional oven but I wouldn't know the timings. Air fryer is just quicker and easier to check on so I prefer that.
Aldi's less than $2, I think $1.50 or so
Trump police speaking: don't come up with ideas that prevent climate change, thank you.
better sell them fast before expiry date.
I wish they'd just call it what it is - import duty.
I work in Chlor-Alkali Electrolysis and some of our biggest customers in the US run their electrolysers for water purification. I don't know their market share but they purify the majority of US water between them.
They buy everything to maintain the electrolysers from us. Nuts, bolts, washers, every last component, as each component is tried and tested to work in our electrolysers through decades of design and testing.
One customer had an arrival today and suddenly had a bill for about 40k more than they were expecting due to the foolish tariffs and the changing of of product classifications on the USHTS. If they buy their spares elsewhere the warranty on their electrolyser becomes invalid, and - as I've seen time and again - cheaper, untested spares will usually result in a catastrophic failure somewhere down the line.
This is just one example, but old moron is messing with all kinds of key industries with his fiddling, and the only people paying are the importers and, eventually, the general public.
Our costs have not changed and we sell at the same price that we are contracted to, but now the companies that purify US water have hundreds of thousands of extra import duty each year if this comedy continues, and they can't just pull out and start again as they have invested tens of millions and there is no suitable US company who can do what we do without decades of investment and research.
Maybe the Fantascist will magic this industry into existence, but it will cost at least twice what we can do it for when it is eventually ready. The companies will undoubtedly charge more for the products they make to compensate, and the US public will foot the bill.
These tariffs hurt the US the most.
Why does Donald Trump hate farmers?
Don't take it personal, he hates all Americans. Well, almost all.
Pretty soon you won’t be considered an American citizen unless you reach a certain tax bracket anyways.
But even then, only if you're not a liberal.
The question is why there are farm subidies at all, since they always vote Republican anyway.
Because they don’t do anything for him but vote for him.
He doesn’t need them anymore.
This one, broken clocks. They be stealing our water here in drought country via soybeans
Maybe we can cancel the military parade and bail out the farmers - AGAIN!
I'm getting deja-vu from his first stint as president.
Last time I think he fired this off after the harvest. It was very bad. At least this time the farmers haven’t planted. Not that I have any sympathy for them; they’re just recovering from the last time leopards ate their faces.
The farmers got $23 billion in bailouts. The real question is why aren't dems hammering this talking point?
It's going to be funny when Americans are eating and drinking crappier versions soy milk, eating tofu, and soy sauce.
So, the teriffs will also cause Amazon deforestation to accelerate as land is clear cut to grow soy beans.
