Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

I make a special trip, just for you.

I love how the mages guild guides say, "Why walk, when I can guide."

Going to the grocery store or the gym is faster by foot then by car.

going to the gym by car would be ironic too

I watched a guy spend at least 5 minutes trying to find a good parking spot at a gym
I shit you not. I was walking to the art store :/

Yeah if you go there to run on a threadmill, not if you go there to lift weights. After a heavy squat day I can barely walk down the stairs to the parking lot.

Not gonna play the "carry all the groceries in one trip" game greater than 100 yards (1 football field (514 bananas))

Because the grocery store is so close to my house that grabbing my bike from the shed an parking it at the store feels like more effort than walking there

Why ride when you can Fortify Strength 100 1 sec + Jump 100 1 sec?

Just don't forget to activate feather fall.

Why not add some Soul Trap on Self to make it permanent?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I've never heard of that one. It breaks it?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Something with the code makes it so when you cast soul trap on self for 1 sec, along with any other effects in the spell, it'll be permanent.

It's how people will cheese skill leveling because you can fortify everything by making your own spells.

Oh man, that's going to be crazy tempting for my current game

Because the walk from Balmora to Vivec is kinda pretty once those cliff racers are dead.

My motto while I was living in an urban area. I found that I could ride my bike right up to in front of my office window after cutting a little brush on the building corner and from that day on I'd do that, knock on the window and climb right into my office chair from my bike saddle if a coworker was already there. Most satisfying parking situation in my professional life so far.

Gotta get that Bunglers Bane.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

You need the other one though, that looks like bunglers bane

Walking is nicer.

Not always somewhere at my destination where I can safely lock my bike to prevent it being stolen.

I can ride my bike with no handlebars.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

but not without wheels (i think)

Why ride when you can drive?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Because I like freedom to park almost anywhere and outdoors. I also don't like being a danger for everyone around me.
