Heart rate? 1,500 beats per minute.

Breathing? 600 times a minute.

It eats twice its body weight daily just to stay alive.

Clicks to hunt. Whiskers as radar.

Jumps, darts, devours — all in the blink of an eye.

It may only live two years, but in that time, it's a lightning bolt with teeth.

Tiny. Fierce. Unstoppable.

I wanted one of these as a pet, but the guide book I got from the library on taming shrews was not helpful.

It was pretty funny though.

Your comment made me smile, but also reminded me that this was a thing that I read before I ever heard of the original. I'll admit that, in that context, the title never made sense to me.

1.8 grams? That cute thing should float quite well!

What are you suggesting should happen to it?!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

It's just super light for it's size

All I'm saying is that it can survive trouble with the mob just fine. Ain't no sleeping with the fishes for this rodent!

You got shrew love like I got dragonfly and hummingbird love! I should write the hummingbird post sometime.

Make me love! Write a long, crazy, true post about these animals. I hunger for it. HONGRY

(I'm not shitting you. I want a long, detailed and entertaining post on these beasts. Hop to it.)

My brain saw a NSFW thumbnail and it took a few seconds to see it correctly.
