RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

Yeah, mostly this.

The white noise and the water hitting my body combine to enhance the feeling.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

Same. Every morning.

Ding, ding, ding!

Enjoying actually doing nothing, usually.

Totally fair

Self care is health care✨

To me it's like saying, what are you actually doing when you get a massage?

Enjoying it

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 days ago

I'm actually having a shower, just being too tired/unmotivated to do it at "normal" speed.

Wishing that the west had the bathtub culture of Japan so I could be sitting down

Not the same at all. I realize this is my fault for poorly communicating. I want to sit down while being enveloped in toasty water that brings me back to the only peaceful period of my life, the uterine experience. And really I want to lay down

Trying to find the spoons to get back out and dry myself.

For better or for worse I tend to reflect and ruminate over the things I did that day and worry/think about how I can be better.

  • as this usually adds like 10mins to my showers I've started to play one of my favorite tracks to help me time limit myself

That and sometimes I get great ideas that tends to loop on itself and so out of fear of losing my funk I also delay getting out😅

Advanced Calculus.

I was just so cold yesterday I didn't feel like getting out, so I kept rinsing. It's been a cold spring here!

Sit on the floor, let hot rain warm me, breathe, let every muscle relax, try to find the center of me, fail, still enjoy warmth.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

Depends, it's just nice to stand under warm water so if I've got the time I'm not gonna rush.

Sometimes I'm doing an "everything" shower where I use conditioner on my hair and facial cleanser, etc. whereas a usual quick one is just shampoo and shower gel

Generally, time blindness and waking up. Feels like 10 minutes, really was closer to 30-40. I never feel fully awake until I've showered.

Shaving my scalp to near perfection so it can power a solar farm.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

It's a mix of relaxing, warming up, thinking about life. I rarely do it nowadays though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago

Avoiding getting out. Even Batman has trouble with it http://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/2013-11-20

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

I generally think of what to do, how to do, when to do

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

I face the faucet, lean forward and put my head against the wall so the hot water runs over my neck and shoulders, then stay like that for like 20 minutes or longer.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Being thorough.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Either just stand there and let my toughts wander, or shave my balls, or have sex with my wife if she tagged along, or furious masturbation followed by self loathing.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Relax and warm up.

Or shaving!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

Try to calm down
