Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I watched a documentary recently. I don't remember the name of it but it was a British couple with a large farm. The soil was in terrible shape. They let it go back to nature and got some pushback for ruining the land. I didn't finish watching but It seems like the idea in Britain for the majority is that nature sucks.

This was what I was watching

Country folk used to have a clue about nature because they relied on it to survive. Now they're just dumb rednecks with carbrain. Lately there's a ton of country bumpkins in Sweden who wants to kill all the wolves because they occasionally harm or kill their loose pets (if your dog lives in your home, it's a pet). They claim the wolves "aren't good for anything in nature". So we will likely have a massive increase of tick and mosquito borne illness soon due to deer overpopulation.

I get a lot of comments about needing to cut my lawn. I don't have a lawn, I have a meadow.

I have seen more bees this year in the garden of my new house than in the previous decade combined living around monocrop plastic and paved wasteland.

My neighbors hate my backyard. They love all the fireflies I have in my backyard. They just don't like the lack of grass and the large amount of plants.

yeah US has the same issue then... apperently human waste is heavily laced with microplastics... and it was then used to "fertilize" the soil

this is what happens when corpos are permitted to do their thing, mistakes compound.
