At this point, it might be more efficient to start reporting on anything that the Ford government does that isn't a cynical, abjectly corrupt effort to enrich his friends.

What a disgrace.

This is a single employee at the union, albeit the exec assistant to a VP. This headline is misleading.

Does that make it any less corrupt?

I'd say so. It's one corrupt opportunistic person versus the entire union. If it were multiple people at the top of the union who were involved, I'd have second thoughts.

This news redirects the anger away from the billionaire developers.

There are unions that support the OPC?

[–] MapleEngineer 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It sounds like he bought the support of this union, doesn't it?

There were unions that supported him going into the last election because, reasons. Buck a beer, cutting the gas tax, support for the little guy, etc. Now it's obvious that every single thing that he does is a scheme to enrich his wealthy friends. He makes it look like it's to help the little guy but none of what he does actually benefits anyone but his wealthy friends.

It makes the bungling by the Wynne government look quaint by comparison. They made mistakes but it was never, "Fuck you, I'm corrupt, suck it!"

I think the reasons were more along the lines of promised construction work.

In this case he clearly bought the union's support.
