That was my first thought as well but if you think about it, it's very much in context with the mutual feeling a lot of people have about the state the world is in right now.

I'm playing this game for the first time right now. It's safe to say that it captivated me. The world they created is astonishing. Even after well over 50 hours I'm not bored at all.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. They interrupted the timeline by an entire episode, even more if we consider the last episode.

Like others here I still like the feel and aesthetics of the show but the pacing is odd to me.

Im höheren Alter ist ein Sturz wesentlich gefährlicher und hat oft einen deutlich schlechteren Verlauf. In Kombination mit der von dir erwähnten hohen Geschwindigkeit, sehe ich hier die hauptsächlichen Gründe.
