It's amazing that when faced with sober geopolitical analysis, people mistake it for moral justification or dehumanization. You can't solve geopolitical issues without acknowledging geopolitics! Of course it was immoral for Russia to attack Ukraine, but shouting that into the void and expecting anything to change does not save Ukrainian or Russian lives.

Hexbear has the largest amount of trans people on one instance as far as I can tell. Lemmy.blahaj.zone is more specifically for trans and queer people, and the admin is trans herself. Lemmy.blahaj.zone is federated with most other instances while many have defederated hexbear because they don't like when trans people get too uppity. On lemmy.blahaj.zone we are considered the "good ones" or the more acceptable trans people by the other instances because this instance is less partisan/politically opinionated. Not a great situation, but the result is this instance is more widely federated.

My instance doesn't federate downvotes, I wonder how many All-scrollers are downvoting regardless of the community :P

I think adopting chickens that need a better home and not shopping for them from breeders is totally reasonable

Edit: If you give a toad a warm water bath, you really need to make sure the water is safe. I had evian bottles for my pet toad, which I came to after testing many water sources for the right hardness, pH, etc. Tapwater often contains chlorine which can be harmful to amphibians and many brands of bottled water are too soft which can cause too much water to osmote into the amphibian's cells. You should also try to avoid touching a toad as your skin oils and any soap residue can be harmful (in this case I thoroughly washed and rinsed my hands before minimally handling the toad). If you find a trapped and dehydrated toad but don't have the right materials to help it out, try bringing it to a nearby damp and shady spot that it is likely already familiar with.
