If the people carrying the stretcher hardly move between the first and last panels, then yeah they probably aren't visible. But then it's weird how they are rearranged anyway.

Ah yes, I can see that. The gap between the first two people and the third threw me off, I thought the third person was in a different letter.
Edit: upon further inspection, the third person in the first panel is lying on their back, but in the last panel they are on their side, so I'm backtracking my backtrack.
Idk why it bothers me, but the two dead people in the first panel don't actually make a letter, and don't appear in the final panel.

I read (listened) to it for the first time last year. The audiobooks I had sounded like they were ripped from cassette, it was AWFUL.
I ended up getting the ebooks and read the first trilogy after stopping halfway through the first audiobook.
My wife loved them when they were new and had been asking me to read them for awhile, but I was kinda disappointed in them. Really interesting magic system, I just felt like the writing was too simplistic.
Also, your uncle inhabiting your body to have sex with someone was a pretty wild thing to read.

I'm with you, she can't possibly take any form of public transport. Not because she's somehow better than the rest of us, but for security if nothing else.
And honestly, I can't imagine how much she would disrupt a public airport or train station. No way I would want to be in that place at the same time, it would be chaos.
