I use ms teams for work, and I agree, it's been a game changer in terms of productivity. But I'll still call someone in teams of I know they're at there computer. Camera on an all. It's about being personal. Building rapport with colleagues and other professionals aids tremendously with productivity and also job satisfaction.

Sometimes it's better to not put things in writing. I hear what your saying, but some sensitive topics require a personal connection to truely discuss, with tone of voice to help

My thoughts exactly.

For the workplace, calls are king. If you're a professional, calling another professional, it's the easiest and fastest way to exchange information back and forth. Long email chains that take several days to reach their conclusion are inefficient. If you need something done, in the work/business arena, just call. Younger generations are entering the workforce for first time and are scared to make or answer calls. It's embarrassing.

Sure, outside of work, keep calls to a bare minimum. Family usually text first to arrange a phone call.

People have no back bone anymore. Oh no, I'm getting telemarketing calls... Just hang up.

No, I don't encrypt. I am a grown ass man and I rarely take my laptop out of my home. I don't have any sensitive data on my various machines. I do use secure and encrypted cloud services to store things that I consider a security risk. Everything else is useless to a potential intruder.

I rate disroot as a good free alternative. Personally I use FastMail. It's paid, but you know how the saying goes, "if the service is free the you're the product".

There is no way Trump wrote that tweet. It is full of punctuation and clearly gets a point across. It was clearly written by someone else. Nevertheless, time to delete protonmail.

I quit Facebook and Instagram years ago, long before it was called Meta. Fuck that goon.

So I'm kind of using 9front for the first time and I really like it. It's really quite a simple operating system. There has certainly been a learning curve coming from Linux and BSD, but I'm getting there. Just need to set up Mail, Faces and an IRC client next.

So far I've just edited the theme, set up a couple functions, customised my riostart, edited the winwatch source code to reduce the padding etc. Everything I've done is pretty much in the acme window.

I've connected to the 9p VPS through rcpu which I find much better than using draw term. Although I suppose I'll need to use draw term to complete challenge two, set up faces for neinbook.

I'm hoping to learn how to edit the main right click menu so I can add launch commands for acme and netsurf. I also would like to edit the new window command to enable -scroll in all new windows. Any tips are welcome and appreciated.

Title.

Basically, I've had an account on lemmy.ml for a while and now I've moved to lemmy.sdf.org and I can't seem to see my previous posts from my lemmy.ml account.

G'day ladies, gentlemen, and all gender non-conforming or non-binary individuals of the Fediverse.

Consider this an #introduction of sorts. I am an ex-Redditor but I'm not new to Lemmy, SDF or the Fediverse. I watched on Mastodon as hordes of people migrated from the imploding bird site and it was wonderful to see. Now watching Reddit push their users towards Lemmy, I'm excited for the future of the internet. A much needed web revolution is upon us.

If you haven't yet, check out mastodon.sdf.org, matrix.sdf.org and pixelfed.sdf.org for more SDF federated goodness. Tell Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and all other social media giants to get stuffed. Cheers
