Any feedback would be great. I'm just getting started as a conservative comedian.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to ride one of these buggers so I'd figured some the gist of it would be interesting.

It's easy to learn if you know how to ride a conventional bicycle, took me about 2 mins of nearly falling over, then another 5 minutes of white knuckling the handlebars until I relaxed and could ride it

The turning circle is atrocious on account of your legs being in the way

it's surprisingly more comfortable than you'd think given looking at it.

It is very hard to resist the urge to throw mock 20th century phrases about while sitting on one. My mind was screaming at me to ask people the directions to the General Post Consulate as I needed to contact the Governmental Juror of Prussian-Siam while sitting on it - I think it is a cognitohazard

The ride's nice enough, even on the tiny back wheel, to the point that I thought "man I get why people back then were all about this" about the OG version considering it was like the first individual transport option bar walking. This honestly beats walking by a mile.

For some time now, I have been victim to a number of health-related issues: I’m tired, cranky, constantly hungry, plagued by headaches, and my pee is a harrowing mustard yellow. I’ve tried googling my symptoms and asking friends and family what I can do to improve my quality of life, and the answer I get is always the same: Drink water. It’s become increasingly evident that drinking water would solve absolutely all of my problems. Here’s why I won’t do it.

I’ve always had the proper sense of self-worth necessary to want the best for myself. Maybe if this was 100 years ago, before medicine existed, I would drink some water and hope that hydrating my cells would allow them to function properly again, but that’s not the case. It’s the 21st century, and there’s no such thing as a problem you can’t pinpoint and fix with a supplement, injection, or health secret that my doctor doesn’t want me to know because it would put her out of business. I even went so far as to confront my doctor with this theory and she said, “Please, no. There is no secret. You have to drink water or you will die,” which is exactly what someone with a secret would say.

I’ve always had a keen sense of when people are holding out on me. When I wanted to just get rid of the flap of skin between my underarms and boobs that forms when I wear tube tops, I went to a physical trainer and she told me that wasn’t possible and I would have to establish a holistic exercise routine for that to change. I left immediately. I still have that flap.

At this point, to start drinking water would be to give up on the possibility of a better life without any effort. There are a million moisture-locking serums from, I want to say, Australia, that I will gladly purchase before I slurp down some H2O to alleviate my flaking and broken out skin. I’m not just going to follow rules because someone on the internet or my whole family tells me to. I’m going to listen to my gut – and my gut says, “You are going to die soon.” So I’m just gonna do what I want.

Besides, why would I waste my time putting clear wet in my mouth when I could drink flavor? If you want me to start drinking water, you’re going to have to pry this diet Coke of my hands, which will actually be easy because the dehydration has severely affected my joints and I hardly can grip things at all.

What’s more important than making healthy choices is self-awareness. I am fully aware of the fact that drinking water would enable my body to function and improve my mood and eyesight which has become a bit cloudy in a bout of what cowboys call “desert sickness,” but I also know there has to be a better way.

And that’s why I’ll never drink water.

Much like with any bicycle adjacent concoction this feels like a niche product aimed towards former hardcore cyclist needing physical therapy or former hikers who don't walk so good anymore and I'm not hating it on that front - mental health, motivation and such - can be important.

Other than that I have 0 fucking clue what the point of this is. Website claims it turns 5kph of walking speed into 25kph of cycling speed.

I'm very queer, I will not reproduce because my body doesn't provide that feature and if it did, it wouldn't match my wants anyway. I have no inheritance to build for anyone (a faulty concept anyway). Obviously, I don't want to be a rentoid enlarging the wealth of the wealthy. I really wish all housing was owned publicly and you'd get allocated housing based on your needs. It doesn't make sense for family houses to be occupied by 2 elderly people or even 1. This isn't to even mention decadent huge housing the rich own for the sole purpose of flexing wealth. It doesn't make sense for strangers to live with one another. It doesn't make sense for 5 people to live in bunk beds in one tiny room while the rich landlords fill their pockets. It doesn't make sense for people to be unable to start families, because they don't have the space for a child while many people live in houses with unused rooms.

Also, fuck extroverts rigging the game for poor people. Cannot afford living alone? You have to rent a room in shared property, but you will pay as much as you'd pay for living alone (or more) and we require you to be extroverted and be our friend while paying for it. I literally had a live in landlord upset I wasn't spending time with him and being his friend. I... pay you... to be in a shitty room... And I'm expected to further do the labour of being your personal clown? A hell naw. The amount of housing for poor introverts is small. Poor introverted immigrants? Smaller. Poor introverted queer immigrants? Even smaller. Poor introverted queer introverts who are interpreted as male in the society? Good luck. I was without a home many times and I'm so glad I finally found something, but fuck this shit. I was pretty certain I'd go homeless. I had to sign a very unfavourable contract and rent in an undesirable location (yet another location with a direct window into a playground - I wish it was legally mandatory to surround them with greenery cutting out sight and some form of noise control :c).

I want to get a painting of Mao Zedong to hang in my place. Anyone knows where to buy one? Displate didn't have any which weren't some weird stuff.

archive.today • 4 Nigerian Migrants Crossed the Atlantic on a Ship's Rudder to Brazil - The New York Times

Four Nigerian stowaways hopped on a cargo ship not knowing where it was going, but hoping to find a place where they could claw out of poverty.

The four stowaways aboard a cargo ship had no idea where they were when they were met by federal police officers last month at a Brazilian port. Told they had landed in Brazil, they were stunned.

They had hopped on the ship while it was docked 3,500 miles away — in Lagos, the most populous city in the West African nation of Nigeria.

They didn’t know where it was going but didn’t care. They were jobless and desperate, they said, and wanted to go anywhere that might offer better prospects.

After rowing out to the vessel, the Ken Wave, they said they climbed into an unlikely space: the 6-foot by 6-foot opening containing the rudder.

Recounting their harrowing journey to The New York Times, they said they spent 14 days crossing the Atlantic Ocean, leaning on cold metal, terrified of falling into the churning waters just below their feet. Sometimes, they spotted sharks.

“We were so scared, we just kept on praying,” said one of the men, Roman Ebimene Friday.

On day nine, they said they ran out of food and water. “We licked toothpaste and drank seawater just to have strength,” Mr. Friday said in a telephone interview from a shelter in São Paulo, Brazil, where he was staying.

“When we informed them we were the federal police of Brazil, they made this face like, ‘Huh, we’re in Brazil?’” said Rogerio Lages, chief of the federal police’s maritime division in the state of Espírito Santo, where the cargo vessel docked...
