I was watching the RFK Jr questioning today and when Bernie was talking about healthcare and wages I felt he was the only one who gave a real damn. I also thought "Wow he's kinda old" so I asked my phone how old he actually was. Gemini however, wouldnt answer a simple, factual question about him. What the hell? (The answer is 83 years old btw, good luck america)

There's every possibility that IronFox's hardening is to blame for this, but that fact that the site doesn't work at all is disgraceful.

In case you're wondering, no I don't use MSN. I was linked to that page from a Lemmy post.

I was looking for info about the upcoming event. I got a guess about what might happen in the future. Cannot describe how useless this search result was.

Just changed my default search engine to DuckDuckGo. Can't be worse than this.

Basically my entire feed is like swiss cheese due to all the articles about Trump and Musk.

Does someone actually enjoy consuming this stuff all day every day? I can't possibly imagine Lemmy ever becoming popular among the normies if this is what they'd need to deal with.

There's no way anyone will press it by accident!

My bad!!

Shrinkflation is SUPER bad, but this likely wasn't an example of it.

Title buzzwords OFTEN IN CAPS.

  • The real reason
  • You won't believe
  • Bizarre
  • Dramatic
  • Insane
  • Never seen before
  • Shouldn't exist
  • The truth behind
  • Panicking
  • You won't beleive what

And what's also extremely annoying is whenever questions are being asked in the title, when it's them who should have the expertise..

Content creator title: "Did the president of Zimbabwe just imposed a ban on bananas from Guatamala?"
Me: "Don't ask me. You're supposed to know that."

I requested to schedule an annual wellness exam with my doctor, they said "She's booking out into 2026, would you still like to schedule?"

They're scheduling out a YEAR in advance!

I realize this is likely a regional issue to some degree, but I have a hunch that in the US (the country I'm in) it's very difficult to get a appointments for non-urgent issues. It's also incredibly difficult in my area to be able to find a doctor that's accepting new patients!

Why can't medical facilities afford to expand to support the demand? This isn't meant to open a discussion about healthcare - it's just a rant. Grrr!

That is not what "unstop" means. You unstop a drain that is clogged, you don't unstop something you want to restart.

Amazon gives non-Prime members free shipping at $35 or more of eligible items. Instead of simply letting users get the product with free shipping, they've added a discount that prices it exactly one cent below the $35 limit, while only subsidizing the price with $3.38, which is about half of what they'll then charge you for shipping.

Fanatical already sends far too many newsletters, but that's the requirement to get whatever free games they hand out, but that's just too far given the current geopolitical climate...

So, I have a joke or you: "Why do elephants like to bowl?"

. . .

I don't f*ing know either. This was a joke on a Laffy Taffy wrapper that I read as a kid, but the answer was cut off. And I know you are like "Oh, have you tried Googling it, Sonnie?" YES, yes I have. I even emailed the company at one point in college to see if I could find the answer. Nothing.

I look at this as kind of like The Ring. You have seven days to spread this or some scary kid is going to climb out of your TV or something.

So I struggled to delete a free Apple TV+ account for a day now (tried different browsers etc) and decided to search if anyone else has had the same problem. Turns out this issue is at least a year old, is known by apple and the Apple support suggests to find someone else with an Apple device to help you out.

Just wow. This can't be legal by EU law.

These 2 screenshots are 1 minute apart, after leaving the tab open on the Steam web browser.

I was showing a friend that they started putting banner ads between comments now, and then more popped up. Reminds me of ROM sites in the early 2000s.

I guess I should have been more careful about where I was spouting off anti-GOP rhetoric. Oh well, I was getting ready to bail on Reddit anyway.

The discovery of this ancient synthetic pigment highlights the impressive artistry of Rome’s imperial era.

The tagline implies credit to Rome when it's called "Egyptian Blue," but says this deep in the article:

Unlike yellow and red ocher, Egyptian blue is a synthetic color achieved by heating a mixture of limestone, chemical compounds, and copper-containing minerals. Its earliest production and use dates back over 5,000 years ago to ancient Egypt; in Roman times, the pigment was produced in southern Italy. In fact, it’s the oldest synthetically-made color known to scientists. Archaeologists typically discover the ancient remnants of Egyptian blue pigment in the form of powder or tiny spheres, but the rarity of the recent specimen lies in its size: a whopping 5.29 pounds (2.4 kilograms).

I can't imagine anyone EVER going "Hmmm, I bet people would appreciate autosave being disabled by default to save a miniscule amount of storage space, we shouldn't even prompt the player to choose during setup" I just spent like 3 hours in a new map and it just crashed. It's all gone. I am devastated. I will now cry myself to sleep.

This is the door lock where we are staying and I am irritated every time I have to punch in the code.
