Summary

Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy had a heated argument during an Oval Office meeting that ended with Zelenskyy leaving without signing a planned bilateral agreement.

Despite the diplomatic breakdown, Ukrainians rallied around Zelenskyy, praising him for standing firm on Ukraine's interests against pressure from Trump and JD Vance, who criticized him for lacking gratitude for previous U.S. support.

While Moscow officials were delighted by the apparent rift, many Ukrainians viewed Zelenskyy as defending their country's dignity during the 3-year Russian invasion.

You just know that Trump is going to have to say and do some batshit wild stuff to distract us from this.

What next?

My money is on claiming Antarctica as US land because of ...uh... Ice prices or something.

There are valuable resources, like gas and oil, under Greenland. He made a deal with Russia to carve up Ukraine's rare Earth minerals.

It seems that Trump's motivations are based on grabbing as much valuable resources from other countries as he can. So far he's been failing.

So sorry, looks like the correct answer for this morning was "pardon Pete Rose and try to strongarm the MLB Hall of Fame into inducting him". I'm sure that will change by lunch though.

Fsck, I didn't know who Pete Rose was and thought you meant Trump was strong arming them into inducting Trump himself. And while it made me go WTF, it didn't surprise me.

Jesus. Rose is dead and did 6 months at "Camp Fed" minimum security in 1990 for tax evasion related to horse-racing winnings, and memorabilia/autograph sales. There's somebody that needed a pardon. 😑

Meanwhile we're blowing up the entire Post-WW2 order, making the world much more dangerous, and destroying America's standing in the world in favor of powers that are (for now) much more autocratic.

Yay baseball!

Hey. Hey! . . . do not besmirch the baseball. This has nothing to do with baseball.

Because that's America's top priority right now.

What the fuck?

The tariffs are due to start on Canadian goods in a couple days. I expect Trudeau is going to face the same kind of tantrum.

Yeah you know, cover the cover - wasn’t this a cover for removing us intel programs to counter Russian election interference?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Did they try to cover that? Like - after it was on the front pages?

Rich deposits of unobtanium have been discovered there by the uh National Office of Discovery

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

If NOD found it, it's more likely to be tiberium.

Can’t wait to watch bags of ice shoot up to $10 in America.
