I am moderating this sub and it shows 4 comments. I only see 3?! https://lemmy.ca/post/1528939 Does anybody else see 4? I am a bit concerned if there are 4 and I can see only 3 (2 are mine). As a moderator that would be no good.

I don't know if it happens all the time, but sometimes I've noticed that if you edit a comment, it'll add a +1 to the comment counter. Which in the case of that thread, it says four comments, but there's only three and [email protected] has edited their comment to make it four.

I think it's a bug when people from outside the instance where the thread is hosted edit their comments.

A recent example I noticed is that if I go to this thread it shows 8 comments (viewing from Lemmy.ca) but if you view the same thread from Lemmy.world it shows 9 because I edited my comment.

Oh that would be a relief. I just feel like as a mod I can’t not not see comments.

There's definitely some issues with federation going on between instances. I've made a bunch of posts and then seen that they aren't visible on the host instance.

Yeah, several posts are simply not showing up after I make them (or ever).

I only see 3 as well as an admin, you may have pointed out a bug that we were unaware of. Other users explanation makes sense.

We'll look into it.

Edit 2 doesn't seem to be editing.... I'll investigate and see if we can figure out what's going on.
