So far it is not possible to access the lemmy.ca communities from my Mastodon account. Since 0.14.0 this should actually work. Are there any adjustments necessary for this?

That's a good question - there seems to be some flakiness with it, even with the 0.14.X updates - or there's something up with the nginx configs that's causing an issue. I haven't been able to subscribe from a pleroma instance yet either.
I've been poking around with it a bit and haven't been successful with it. I've just filed issue #1984 and it appears #1983 was filed yesterday regarding issues subscribing from Mastodon.

It seems to me that you didn't do so badly after all. It works now - the communities of the instance are now accessible via Mastodon! ๐ Thanks a lot!
Well that's good news - still can't from Pleroma, but we're digging in to that. Thanks for letting me know!
