The Steve Jobs episodes of Behind The Bastards go into a lot of detail as to why this happened this way. You also get to hear about how Jobs would soak his feet in the toilet during meetings and how he made little children cry for eating wrong. He was a real piece of shit.

He also set off bombs in his school and got sued by the State of California for letting his wife and child live off of welfare while he was as rich as, well, Steve Jobs. I'm usually not the biggest fan of podcasts and other such audio-only media, but this was too good to skip. Worth every second of the four hours!

Yeah, it was really good but I’m an audio medium man. Always be listening is my motto And Mr Ed Zitron was the guest and I adore him.

It's the same reason iPhones don't allow you to use a memory card lol if you've used up all of your storage then it's time to get a new phone!

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well but it's not going to be another iPhone.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

That's what I tell myself when anyone asks me if I know what my next phone is gonna be.

80's Apple: Gay

20's Apple: Straight

They were so much better when they had something to prove.

There's a dongle for that!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Aw shit, that's what I was forgetting lol

I still bleed in six colors

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

In my view, Apple was born enshittified.

Nah, Apple was an amazing company for a while. Iirc they were literally the best bang for your buck by a long shot, which shouldn't be surprising considering they were literally the first company to make a home computer that didn't require soldering experience or a kit. At some point they decided to prioritize form over function, however, and started going downhill.

I've never heard that claim before. How is that the case, considering that the Apple I was just a motherboard, and the Apple ][ hit the market six months after the Commodore PET?

The Apple II was very good. I always wished I could get one.

(And by the date, and by the impossibility of it being about the Apple original, that's exactly the computer the OP is talking about.)

Yea, this meme was inspired by Action Retro's YT video from yesterday lol

Up to 2015, Macbook were the best machines available. You could update ram, drives, etc. My 2012 mb is still going strong.

I dont think apple had 5040 expansion ports in the 80s

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Are there any modern flagship phones with headphone jacks?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

The Apple II was a good computer but if I lived in that era I probably would have used a Commodore 64 and later the Amigas or a i386 IBM clone.

[–] corsicanguppy 2 points 1 month ago

Apple ][gs my dude. Go see

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Ah, the Amiga, the best computer you could get in '86, but didn't know about because their marketing was shit
