Hello new Lemmy friends!
Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so here’s a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.
The woman we’re discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (I’d argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you don’t know who he is or what he did). She’s the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that she’s Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising aren’t as clear (and where they are she’s disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those who’ve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone who’s tried to speak out.
Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like we’re just “shitting on her” the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that she’s hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.
We’re grateful to have been welcomed so kindly by so many of you, and to those sticking around to watch the drama unfold, we’re glad to have you!

How pathetic, "celebrating" a milestone birthday with a bunch of people who aren't really friends. She has NO long-term friends or "known since school/childhood" people around her. Not one, and this is a woman who has basically lived in the same place her entire fucking life. They've all washed their hands of her. It's wild.

She’s acting like this trip was a once in a lifetime thing and like it brought out her inner child after waiting so many years to go or something yet she goes to Disney multiple times a year and has been an insane amount over the last few years. How can anyone fall for this woman’s BS?!!
What she means is she only had herself to think about, she was the centre of attention, everyone catered to her and she always got her own way. That’s her inner child and her life’s dream.

Sarah has had air of smug brat in every clip I've seen her in. Like someone not getting their way at all but still trying to appear content. Any time someone includes Turd in their video, she offers only a quick smile or acknowledgement. Usually trailing far behind or completely ignoring the person filming (see: every video Renee has taken). She is also always away from her poor sister who looks like she is not close enough with literally anyone else on that trip to even walk and talk with. I feel so bad for her

It’s embarrassing to watch. And every video they ALL have their phones out at every moment, never just enjoying the moment and the company, always gotta be filming.
The whole thing is absolutely bizarre!! I can’t relate to doing anything remotely like this for my birthday. It’s all so weird and wrong, on so many levels. S. just comes off as such a mean, entitled, spoiled brat! Which is very obvious but it’s still embarrassing.
What is with the sisters long winded speech about this trip? She looked miserable the whole trip and then pulls all this out? What’s with the thanking of her parents. It’s all very strange. Did S make her write this to prove their relationship is better than they make it seem?

There is a massive norovirus going around this city right now. One school had an absenteeism of 30% of the school in ONE DAY. Mothers have been trying to juggle FT jobs, household duties, etc, all while caring for their puking and sh*tting children and being there for them. This TWAT needs to "recharge" after galivanting around for 4 days of fun, child free?!?! How does anybody find her relatable. She's beyond pathetic
Lmao was just coming to post this!!! What a rough life, spent 4 fun days in Disney and now is back on the sofa struggling to get off her ass and be a mom. How do people take this woman and her big important life seriously? Like she really comes home to ZERO responsibilities bc everyone picked up the pieces and took care of life while she frolicked around Disney for the 100th time, it’s pathetic how everyone just coddles her and lets her get away with it.

Look at this disgusting display of internet mean girls. Entitled, wealthy “influencers” who have contributed absolutely nothing to society yet are gifted their way through life. It’s appalling that companies don’t select more deserving people for PR. Why the fuck are companies gifting already wealthy privileged people such lavish luxuries? Oh and look at her poor sister - how uncomfortable!!!
I feel so bad for her sister. Sarah could have just gone with her sister and connected, it could have been meaningful and fun, down to earth even. Sarah wastes all kinds of time with her fake friends.
The Shine clan (I’m not sure Sarah is still with Shine) is a privileged woman’s money making cult.
Literally none of these people are her “friends” aside from maybe 2 of them (NB and Bri and even they’re debatable. Excluding her sister bc family). She doesn’t associate with any of these people at all, it’s basically an acquaintance trip. I’m throughly convinced that Shine arranged this trip because I can’t believe for a second that all these people were invited naturally.
It is her big giant birthday and she is barely in anyone's photos and videos... it must be exhausting having to calculate every single camera/recording, every movement and expression
And the make up! They all look like they are going on stage. This all just looks like one big photo op for the internet - no real life memories or ✨magic ✨.

I know we’ve already covered this but why is she talking like an entirely different person?! It is the weirdest thing. Her gaffaw dorky face when she’s harassing the guy also celebrating their 40th. She is always so awkward and trying so hard, she is not confident at all. She 100% lost weight for this trip - nothing wrong with that except that she’s always said there is something wrong with that!
The voice this entire trip has been next level annoying. Nice of Disney to gift the goof a $1500-$2000 private dessert party. I’m guessing they will be doing a lot more business together in the future.
