That's all. I really love 1Password though, I don't think I've ever had any issues with them and their Linux support is excellent.

I learned that Tailscale is Canadian after learning that CloudFlare indiscriminately routes your server traffic through the US, including CloudFlare Tunnel traffic.

Tailscale rocks the easy-peasy world.

It's also important to note that Tailscale's coordination server can be self-hosted, the project is called Headscale. For the self-hosting folks.

Dang. Bitwarden is American :(

Yup, but at least you can self-host it. But for a cloud solution, 1Password.

Luckily, both 1Password and BitWarden are regarded as the best password managers right now.

But Proton's CEO has been positive about the incoming US administration, which makes me think twice about supporting them.

I say this as a Proton Unlimited user. And I still pay for 1Password separately because it's that good.

Is 1Password the insecure one or is it LastPass?

[–] isVeryLoud 9 points 1 week ago

LastPass had a lot of controversies, 1Password has never been breached.

Tailscale moved their data systems to the USA a long while back, and issued a notice about it. I closed my account after that. Went back to self configured wire guard.

Rip, thanks for the info. My understanding is it should be fine if you host everything yourself with Tailscale?

Please let me know otherwise, because this matters a lot for Funnels for one of my clients who needs to keep their data within the country.

Hopefully this trade war will make Tailscale reconsider moving their infra to the US.

You would be fine if you host the relay server and point to it on the clients so it doesn't default to global relay. But somebody more familiar with the service should guide you. I stopped following TS after the data change...because I don't trust USA isn't snooping.
