The biggest problem with our country is the damn supply chains. We need to tear down the north south(CAN->US->CAN) supply chains we had in place until now and replace them with East->west supply chains. To get an aluminium can, we export raw aluminium and US makes cans and sends it back to us. They have been taking us for a ride. We get nothing in return. Hopefully Carney is able to incentivize industries which would let us move production back to Canada. Elbows up!

Yes! And we need to build out our rail networks. It should be really cheap to move stuff across country by rail on manifest trains. Additionally, we should have a high speed rail network connecting all of our major cities so that we can travel anywhere without flying, without driving, and without crossing the border.
Yes. Quebec city to Toronto is one straight line and building a high speed railway on a straight line is damn easy. Costly but engoneering wise there are not much challenges.
Why is every picture of the Buy Canadian concept is always about alcohol? I do enjoy a good whiskey or a nice cocktail every now and then but alcohol is the first thing to be cut back if times are hard : will slowly finish the bottles I have but won’t buy any more until finances are healthy again.
What % of the gdp is alcohol? We should focus on something else even if less visible. Dropping fruits that are grown in the US or grown in Mexico through a US company seems way more interesting to me. I can be a week without alcohol but not so much without any fruits and vegetables.
Probably because a photo of broccoli doesn't really look any different if it's Canadian or American.
The broccoli I buy is Belgian, anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to get more Canadian stuff when the weather warms up.
Probably because they pulled American alcohol off the shelves. It's now the symbol.
Damn, Canada even has BMO?
It's our Bad Manners Officer. Makes sure that everyone says their annual quota of "Sorry".
Pronounced "sohrry," of course.

Wow who would have thought sensing money to another country would decrease the money in your country.
Is this a zero sum sum? So more 10 billion for canada is 10 less billion for usa?
At the surface it seems to be, since people are switching from american products to Canadian ones. But, the supply chain is more complex.
canada has the option to cut off alaska if things get worst.
