Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

While I wouldn't believe a word of anyone from the Trump administration if their tongues were notarized, I certainly hope that the UK isn't seriously considering capitulating to Trump's demands. How many of these people have to capitulate to Trump only for him to shit all over his own deal when he suddenly changes his mind and decides he wants more before they realize that capitulation in the first place was a bad idea?

But again, we're 10 years into the political game of playing Trump's games by Trump's rules and wondering why it always ends up like this.

The UK doesn't want any of our shit. They won't eat are food because it's literally toxic compared to the food they get from everywhere else. Our appliances are shit. Our airplanes are dropping out of the sky. Out side of oil, what do we even have to sale that's better than what they already have?

People like Wes Streeting want to import your health care system. It's long been the dream of people like him to do so. It's the most valuable thing we have on the table.

Weapons, which was fine when you could trust the US, but now that'd be like the UK buying weapons from, well, Nazi Germany.

Unlikely, the EU would likely respond to it for weakening their position while also kinda snubbing the UK.

Isn't that the dude who dropped the NCAA football national championship trophy on live TV in front of his alma mater Ohio State?

I don't use this term lightly, but JD Vance is a buffoon. Also, a shithead.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

There is a good chance JD will fuck everything up too

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

The furniture, if not everything.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Wouldn't get too worked up yet...

Normally, for any sentence that begins "JD Vance says", what follows is an unmitigated and blatant lie...

OTOH... 🤷‍♂️ 🤡

JD Vance says, "two trophies are better than one!"

Just like Trump and Vance resolved the Ukraine war in one day

Just like Trump and Vance stopped the Israeli genocide in one day

Just like...

These guys really are so delusional. Can’t tell when the world is laughing AT them and not with them.

[–] Snowstorm 3 points 3 days ago

Isn’t that the strategy? Real estate goon style! Bully everyone that you consider week with a tsunami of unpredictable problems, get a deal with one of them to show its possible and offer crumbs for each to settle. You then wait for all to grow tired of the storm and offer worst conditions as time passes. This strategy will involve chaos, one negative example and one positive example.
