Nice! I made it up to Quebec a few years ago. But, don’t think I made it to a brewery. How welcome are well behaved Americans right now? My 50th b-day is next month and I thought it would be nice to make my way up through Canada and over to PEI and spend some money with sane people

You'll be fine, Americans are welcome in Canada, though MAGA and gaudy stars&stripes apparel would be better left at home. We do appreciate your support both in spirit and action, and supporting tourism here instead of the US is a direct contribution in favour of Canada.
One othet thing: Many drivers with a non-Quebec plate get treated with a little more suspicion from police and ridicule from drivers when you mess up driving and parking rules (but the animosity is more against Ontario drivers than anywhere else). This has long been the case so nothing to do with current events.
You should make sure you have your documents and stuff in order for when you return to the US, since your CBP has been known to give a tough time even to people with the legal right to enter.
Cool, I appreciate the detail, thanks! Makes me feel better about my choice. Yeah, thanks for the tip about being prepared for my own CBP. I was already planning to mail my phone home (or take a burner). My wife and I both have Nexus. So, we usually have a pretty easy time with both US and Canada border patrol.
