I remember one vacation to Orlando where we went to Disney and then Lego land. At Disney they’ll put walls around construction and then add these inspirational posters like “excuse our dust while we reimagine your dreams” or whatever. At Lego land they had the same plywood walls but then these plaques with some ISO-compliant safety icons and a message like “construction area: trespassing may cause death”.
Lego doesnt have the Disney+ to waive away their liability.
It's probably also that the owner of legoland, merlin, have had a lot of bad accidents happen in their UK parks and don't want anything else to happen.
They're not blocking your view, they're blocking OSHA's view. The fun police don't like it when the Hardhat Boys race each other on their scooters (pallet jacks) and sword fight with grinders and shovels. Also apparently air compressor potato guns are a no no :(
OSHA inspectors need a direct line of sight to the violation, so a bucket can also work

They're building a school near where I live and they've got these things all around the site. Problem is, there's an awkward intersection at one of the corners of the site, and traffic coming from the street that is 95% blocked by the fence does not have a stop/yield sign. So now everyone has to slowly approach the intersection, and slowly creep forward until you're halfway in the intersection to see clearly, and hope a car isn't barreling towards you at 30MPH.
God, I used to bike around here.
Funny enough, that might actually make the intersection MORE safe because everyone going through it will be uncomfortable and extra vigilant.
It doesn't really. It's a T-intersection, where the top of the T has stop signs, and the bottom leg does not. If you are on one side of the T, you must enter the intersection, such that you are in the path of the bottom leg, before you can see if there is anyone coming from that direction.
The people coming from the bottom leg (with no sign) have no reason to stop or slow down, and would generally not have reason to look in the direction the fence is blocking visibility. I don't think traffic coming from that direction even recognizes the obstruction. All they see is someone suddenly creeping into the intersection in front of them, when they can be mere yards from them.

The project near me has peep holes at child and adult height so you can look into the site and see what's going on. Its pretty cool. There is also an explanation of the project and interesting facts about it.
