Ours is better.

It's not nearly as good as the 0G. This one's just a common social media "Hot girl sliding into your DMs" account

Why did you write OG with a zero?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

She just has zero gravitas.

Where else would you start your indices?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

0 is for array offsets. 1 is for lists.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's actually always been 0G. It means zero gravity because it's so original it was there before earth formed to make a gravity well.

Over time people just confused the term.

Why would you lie on the internet like that?

OG stands for Original Gangster.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It was an attempt at a joke.

I thought the ridiculousness of the claim would make it obvious.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You would think. We have people in 2025 who think this is real:

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago

Cute little man with a job, bless him

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

man, if he was real and delivered mail to me, I think that would fix me

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

I don’t know how that works. If a woman slid into my DMs at all, let alone one in a bikini, I’d immediately dismiss it as spam.

Women don’t hit on men often, and they certainly don’t do it on the internet.

Then again, people fell for Nigerian Prince scams so I guess I’m just more wary prey.

A mere imitation

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

...now that's a name i've not heard in - two months...

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago

Some person named Lily is going to be very disapointed in the future if they want a username with their name in it. What do you mean they're all taken?!?

[–] [email protected] 32 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Did anyone ever find out what "Nicole" etc actually wanted ? I just blocked and immediately reported spam, but tbh never actually ask what flavour of scam "she" was up to

[–] [email protected] 77 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Eventually the messages started coming with crypto addresses to help her with her sick dad and college tuition.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 2 days ago

Ahh, yeah ok, not too surprising I guess. Thanks

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No. No more Nicole spam after they locked the Nicole community. Because someone thought it would be funny to spam photos of a corpse.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As hard as they shut down discussions of "Nicole" I'm surprised simply saying the name doesn't get your account banned.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm surprised shutting down the community stopped the messages. I never thought that would work

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

sh.itjust.works clamped the spam filter down so hard that there was awhile there where I couldn't access the [email protected] community from my account, I had to go separately. So somebody might still be trying and it's getting nuked server side.

It was such a weird scam, too.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh that's interesting. But the senders were from a variety of instances

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah I think the sh.itjust.works admins blocked it pretty hard from showing up to internal accounts. Other folks from other instances could send, but us sh.itheads couldn't receive. And they did their brain surgery with a backhoe.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 days ago

Oh no. She's hot.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Oh that's a battalilyon

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Isn’t Bluesky spam all the way down?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 16 hours ago

I’ve got about 600 followers. I think about 525 of them are just bots.

Pretty poorly executed bots too if you ask me. Every one has a profile pic of a cute girl, always exactly two posts, and they’re following somewhere between 1.5k and 15k accounts.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

Not for me tbh. I followed some people and algorithm seems to curate my feed accordingly. It's mostly cats and climate news.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There's some good stuff but you gotta block like 1000 profiles to have a decent feed

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The opposite works better. Follow the accounts you actually like and just use the following tab.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Tried that, a little too repetitive for my taste

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Yeahh, a lot of posts what end up on the frontpage get at least a few copy paste comments

I honestly expected bsky would be better with spam protection than twitter, but hey, at least its not dicks and uncensored porn as it was on twitter
