Pop those cold fries in the air frier

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Came here to say this. I know the rest of the replies here are the perils of late stage capitalism and a growing feeling of hopelessness but god fucking damn it people need to know how good air-reheated fries are! We gotta take the wins where we can.

I find they’re often still not as good as they were, but you can get closer by brushing them with a bit of oil (I like to use avocado oil) before air frying, and re-salting before or after they’ve been reheated. Especially if you use a good garlic salt.

Damn, now I want potatoes.

I wish people would wake up to capitalism being the biggest scam and finally liberating the human race to an advanced way of life where we aren't dying from famine or warfare and also don't have to waste so much of our lives making like 3 people even more richer than they already were—but I digress. They'll learn it the hard way it seems.

Leftover fries heated in an airfryer are still good

The secret is you gotta get ‘em in the freezer before they go soggy.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Then you're using yours wrong

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Even a standard oven makes almost all leftover fries better than when served. I’ve only had an exception when they’re straight out of the frier (and high quality fries)

I couldn't do fries as a delivery / takeout food until air fryer. They always arrive kind of soggy. Now as soon as I get them I put them in and bring them back to full glory.

Get an air fryer, I can't help you with the rest though.

How is an air fryer going to make my pets live longer? 🤔

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

People suck? Into the air fryer

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago

Sorry, I thought you wanted crunchier pets.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Looks like somebody never learned about mummification. Sure, it's spooky and you might suffer a mummy's curse but boy does it extend their shelf life!

Surprisingly a lot of these can be fixed with an air fryer. I spend less money because of mine because I can make small amounts of crispy snacks without having to get fast food, and they reheat fries like nobody's business.

do not put your pets in an air fryer

they will not live longer

but then again I haven't actually tested it, so maybe

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

I have kept my pet fries alive for two years now with the help of an air fryer. This one I call chip.

Some pet birds live about 100 years.

Air frier for fries.

Sometimes people just suck, maybe find better people to be around?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

There's a pet tortoise that is like 300+

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

That tortoise is thinking "I wish humans lived longer..."

Add a sheet of moist paper towel over any baked goods when warming up in the microwave. This counteracts the microwave removing moisture. Leftover pizza tastes way better. Maybe fries too?

store your fries leftovers in a sealed container to avoid desiccation, and in the fridge to slow bacterial proliferation. warm them up by putting a couple of tbsp vegetable oil into a frying pan and fry them at medium temperature.

This reminds me of the Guns and Roses requirements for paradise. "Women are attractive, and the grass is the same colour as everywhere". And nobody really cares about the grass.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The orginal version was ”grass is free”

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

So that's another theory. I heard that the first version was "girls are fat and they have big titties".

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Amen to that first one in particular

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Leftover fries can be either air fried gain (but you'll need to flip them half way) or pan fried in neutral oil (tastier but less healthy).

Can't help with the other three problems.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I recommend grating cheese over your fries before warming them up!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I passionately believe cheese is always a good idea

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

Except when its being pushed onto you to prop up the dairy industry, I guess. I get what you mean, though.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Pretty much sums it up.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Left over fries are good, sometimes I even leave them out on purpose to reheat them!

I WILL die on this hill
