Conservatism, especially the modern MAGA kind, is hatred and pain and death and selfishness.
Because one of the many things shoe-horned into this bill was the removal of suppressors and short-barreled rifles from the NFA, this has been the subject of conversation in a lot of the gun subs on Reddit. It's been fun watching some of the boot-lickingest right-wing gun owners absolutely shitting all over this bill on account of how bad it is. Even the AR15 sub, which doesn't usually allow political threads, was like, fuck it, we're leaving this one up because everyone needs to know what absolute garbage this bill is.
Is this where they bleat that they "didn't vote for this"?
It's really just the conservative NIMBY's that are realizing their "backyard" is about to be sold off.
That's not the problem. The problem is the people that don't realize.
Exactly.
They don’t care as long as it’s not their public lands, if that makes sense.
Lee wants it sold off so the Mormon church (which sits on an insanely sized endowment) can buy up the entire state of Utah and turn into their true cult paradise.
Sell it all in red states only.
No. This is the American public's. None of it should be sold.
Where do they think their conservative constituents with their lifted trucks and 5th wheel campers will go to stay?
Where do they think the sov cut and van lifers are going to overland?
This was a bad idea completely.
I also bet they will try to sell the Grand canyon to a casino.
We like all the liberal/socialist policies but hate the liberal/socialist.
Remember "hate the sin, not the sinner'? Like that, but in opposite land.
What?
Love the socialism but hate the socialist.
They’re calling out the hypocrisy of “conservatives” who depend on and appreciate social policies but then label anything they don’t like as evil socialism.
American freedom of ignorance at its finest.
How does that relate to this post about public lands being sold?
Having public land is a socialist policy. Public land is owned in social ownership instead of being owned by private interests. It's the classic definition of socialism.
The poster is saying that conservatives actually like socialism, since they like public land but they hate socialists who are advocating for such socialist policies.
Public lands are valued by conservatives for recreation and food, even though they’re lands held in common — ie: socialist.
That maga doesn't like it. They want public lands to stay public - socialist value/law. But hate socialists/Dems and vote GOP
Yep, also they slobber all over the knobs of Big Fossil, too, when they chant mindless things like "drill baby drill".
