Rules and Guidelines

2. Be CivilArgue in good faith, attack the argument; not the person, and promote a healthy debate. That includes implying violence, threats or wishes of violence and/or death.

3. No PornThis instance is not made to host porn communities. You're free to access porn communities on other instances through your account, but be mindful of Rule 4.

4. Use the NSFW tagUse your common sense: if you wouldn't want this image to show up on your work computer, tag it as such. In comments, use the
spoiler ::: tag for NSFW images, and put a NSFW mention beside links. Do not use NSFW images as your avatar or banner. :::
5. No Ads / SpamThis instance is not there to act as your billboard. If you want to promote your personal work, at least make the effort to be a contributing member of this community. Your account purpose shouldn't be to only advertise, make it natural.

6. Bot accountIf you are the operator of a "bot" account, make sure to flag is as such in the account's settings.

7. Right to privacyDo NOT distribute the personal information of someone else without their consent (aka doxxing). Information that is public domain can be shared, provided it is in good faith.
ex: The official email of an elected official is fair, the private phone number or the real name of a non-public person is NOT.

8. Report abuseThe report function isn't labelled the disagree button. You might not agree with someone, but that doesn't mean what the person says is against the rules. Using it repeately in this fashion will lead to actions being taken against the reporter.

9. ImpersonationDon't make an account with the intent to negatively deceive or defame someone on the fediverse.
ex: Parody of a famous person is okay, submitting outrageous content as appearing like another user, mod or admin isn't.

This site lists the communities on -shall not be named- that have either migrated or are also located on different sites. It also lists whether it is the official community or a spin off. A very helpful tool for those who have rid of -shall not be named- and have forgotten communities they once followed.

Find where subreddits have gone, this includes wheather it is the official sub or a spinoff. If link to sub does not work you can search for the community on Lemmy.

Sync for Reddit should link to a reddit migration directory like sub.rehab (sub.rehab)
 
 

When Sync for Reddit show a popup promoting Sync for Lemmy, it should also point to this kind of service, to ease the migration. It would also be nice, if sync for Lemmy also had a shortcut.

Besides that a link to a more general community directory like https://lemmyverse.net/ would be nice to have.

Found it on Reddit. It's most probably incomplete, but it has a "Suggest link" button.

The rules for submitting a link are (as of recent):

  • No links to communities who break their service's ToS or share any illegal content (this should be self-explanatory).
  • Link must be an alternative to an existing subreddit. I don't see sub.rehab as a general fediverse directory (for now).
  • Community must have a minimal amount of activity. I am thinking - at least 3 posts that are not submitted by the community's moderator team. This does not apply for communities that are verified and proven as official replacements of the original subreddit

Someone recently asked if there was a neat way to see where all of the now broken down subreddits moved.

Some moved to Discord, some to Lemmy, and some are somewhere else.

Un site très intéressant qui circule aujourd'hui, qui présente les alternatives disponibles pour différentes communautés de Reddit. C'est un peu un fourre-tout mais il y a certaines instances plus intéressantes que d'autres. À noter qu'il est mis à jour en continu.

PS: Désolée si j'ai mal publié ou dupliqué, je suis un peu mêlée avec les commuautés et les instances!

Un site très intéressant qui circule aujourd'hui, qui présente les alternatives disponibles pour différentes communautés de Reddit. C'est un peu un fourre-tout mais il y a certaines instances plus intéressantes que d'autres. À noter qu'il est mis à jour en continu.
