Whoever they pick in round 1 has to be a true starter. The Raiders have blown so many first round picks...
They have done this forever. They make visiting teams wear their dark jerseys to make them sweat even more. Even the stadium is designed to have sunlight on the visitor's bench, while the Miami bench gets shade.
The problem with this line of thinking is you assume the game plays out exactly the same. There are too many variables. Carlson could've missed one. Carlson makes one or both, then kickoffs are involved. Field position is different. Both teams make play calling adjustments based on the score.
I'd keep him, but if a new coach/gm come in, he's probably gone.
Team played hard. It still lacks talent in key spots, and you have rookie coaches and QB.
Really no shame losing by one score on the road against a very good division leader in the early east coast time slot.
How they play next week will say a lot.
Let the rook take a longer shot. Really nothing to lose in that situation. Give him a chance.

Just remember, questionable decisions like this by McFool helped get him fired. If they had managed to pick someone decent, McFool might still be the coach.
