Please consider giving more attention to the smaller parties and independents.

While I do share the sentiment, I think in this election the following should be the objectives in order of priority:

  1. Prevent a Poilievre government
  2. Get rid of the current NDP leadership

I think given the current numbers, we can achieve both by either voting strategically or by voting LPC.

Once that's done, we should pile into the NDP leadership election and elect a proper leftist that understands working class politics and economics, along with building people power. If we're successful, contribute to future election campaigns that flip LPC seats to NDP, in order to hold the power balance of an LPC minority government in the future, if no orange wave.

What's wrong with npd leadership?

[–] avidamoeba 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Doesn't understand how to represent and organize working class people. Proposes neoliberal policies that are nicer than LPC's but still aren't comprehensive, and are .. neoliberal. We need a leadership that talks about grand public investment, crown corporations, busting monopolies and oligopolies, pensions, massive unionization, etc. The ironic thing is that Carney is incorporating some of this in his campaign rhetoric. "We're going to create not thousands of jobs, but hundreds of thousands of careers in the trades. If you like building, get into it, we'll have a career for you." Not an exact quote but he's said some very close things. The NDP has to own the full spectrum of working class issues and talk about class issues in general. Teach people about it if they have to. I wouldn't be surprised if Jagmeet doesn't know much about what created his party and why Tommy Douglas was so successful.

The ndp really hasn't been the same since Jack Layton. Miss that dude.

And spilt the vote? Fuck no my friend. This will be the first time I ever vote liberal. I know it won't matter in my area, but at this time every vote that isn't for them is a vote for the cons. Your vote could be the vote that let's the cons win in your riding.

This is an all or nothing election in my opinion.

While I understand getting seats helps smaller parties and the system sucks, anything but a vote for the Liberals is a vote for the CPC in my opinion.

We cannot risk Polievre winning and what that will mean for this country.

Look at the US, where single issue voting and assuming Kamala had it in the bag by a lot of people ended up with Trump winning.

That scares the shit out of me right now.

I don't think that's the primary reason Kamala lost, but I completely agree Canada will be majorly fucked if PP gets in power. We'll be further attached to the sinking ship south of us with all our lifeboats cut loose.

Carney is start to avoid a lot of questions like regular politicians there is no excuses for that. People would trust politicians more when they start admitting their errors

Like the accusation of Brookfield breaching Indigenous rights and harming the environment in Brazil and columbia and refusing to say if some concessions is possible with Trump.
