I'm planning on upgrading lemmy to v0.18.0 tonight, probably around 9pm CDT. So there will be a bit of downtime, but I don't think it should take too long.

Release Announcement: https://lemmy.ca/post/862306

edit: kids baseball game went long, should start around 10pm CDT.

edit2: going to start in about 5 minutes. 9:55pm CDT.

edit3: looks like we're updated. let me know if you notice any issues!

It's great to see all the changes they're making and that the devs are listening to community feedback. Looks like the community is also helping out a lot with all the shoutouts in that post!

HTTP API instead of Websocket

Super excited about this one. The live updates in the comments is kind of neat, but it makes trying to browse the All tab basically impossible.

I didn't see it mentioned - have they fixed the weird Hot/Active bug in this release?

Thanks @smorks for keeping this place running!

From what I've been able to see using lemmy.ml (they are on 0.18 already), the sorting seems to be fixed, hot/active works as expected, and there are other sorting options available, too.

I'm really looking forward to 0.18 on lemmy.ca!

I was wondering about this too when reading the changelog. I didn't see any references to it.
