Yes, the same media campaign that has gotten the public at large (including young previously 'liberal' generations) to believe Trump's lies is happening in Canada. Aside from a neutral reputable public news source that is CBC, we are hardly insulated from it.

I found an article explaining that Doug Ford wants to make private parking lots apply to the highway traffic act, essentially it would be extreme government overreach making highway traffic laws apply to private parking lots. Absolute garbage. https://globalnews.ca/news/10846840/ontario-careless-driving-laws/

Besides that bs, I notified my friend about it and his reply was instantly 'fuck trudeau '...I was amazed at the brainwashing when it's not even trudeau or his government cronies pushing this agenda but the side he's rooting for.

Absolutely amazed me at the brainwashing that is taking place where they can't properly see things happening right in front of them.

I opened Youtube without logging in yesterday. It's insane what we let the largest media companies push with zero accountability as long they're not the "creators".

whatever you do. don't vote. then sit back and say how the left did not inspire you enough. step 3 is profit but not for you.

Damn I was just thinking about moving there. Not really but I’d really like to live in a more utopian society where we work together to solve problems instead of fighting to make things worse.

Work together and be nice to each other? Sure.

Solving problems? Eh, not really a thing here. Kicking them down the road is a popular sport at every level of government here.

Let your grandkids deal with the climate, housing, and oligarch crisis, we have profits to be made today!

As someone who moved here from Scandinavia (Sweden) we're hardly immune to extremist right-wing philosophies and political movements. Case in point: the former Nazi party won the last general elections in Sweden and is making a right old mess of the country as we speak.

And while it's not Norway, our closest neighbors haven't been insulated from the right wing populist tide either, judging by the news.
