I love this quote:

“I really relish giving my Republican colleagues the chance to not just say they’re concerned, but actually take an action to stop these tariffs,” Kaine told The Associated Press in an interview last week.

Translation: “I relish telling Republicans to put up or shut up.”

Well remember the lack of votes to:

  1. End this nonsense
  2. Stop the executive branch from making up crises to violate any agreement they want. Evidence be damned.
  3. Accept this declaration of economic war on your closest ally.

If this does not pass the US. can never again be trusted with any agreement or deal, so none should be bothered to make them.

They are already so far past this point that it doesn't matter. Am I supposed to just forget the annexation threats ? I notice they didn't mention that, just the money.

[–] wise_pancake 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

No, never forget that.

They have a chance to stand up now, if they’re completely rotten they won’t take it.

They’ve had other chances too.

I guess you just don't get it. If you trust them on anything at this point, you need to get your head examined. It is finished.

You folks up there should be building relationships with US state governors. New England, upper Midwest, west coast. We're on a road to dissolution down here, be ready to work with the rational pieces after the fall.

When you guys get your shit figured out, let us know. Till then, we will be dealing with others.

The areas I mentioned all have states that mostly have their shit figured out. I'm not talking about Texas and Florida and Alabama, for example.

Unfortunately there is the CAN/US border between Canada and all those states, so individual states don’t matter.

They will, hence my original comment. When there's a hot war going on down here, you guys are going to want to pick sides. Having strong relationships with states now whose side you're probably going to want to pick later is a good idea.

I don't think you quite understand how little us Canadians want with Americans anymore. You just went from our best friend to our worst enemy overnight.

That trust you seek from us is shattered for generations at best, forever at worst.

Stay away or face the consequences. Eat yourselves and leave us alone.

Also, what would we even do if the US went into civil war? Invade Idaho?

[–] Revan343 1 points 2 weeks ago

Support the less shitty side with supplies, most likely.

When there's a hot war going on down here, you guys are going to want to pick sides.

Not really.

The United States of Canada has a better sound to it than the 51st state if you ask me.

United Provinces of Canada. Province just sounds more royal than State.

I'm already discovering new Canadian products that I won't switch away from. And won't forget in a few months, either.

Remember Musk has said he will primary anyone who does not go his way, I have no idea what that all entails and I do not really care to find out.
