The fire raging through Flin Flon began a week ago near Creighton, Saskatchewan, and quickly jumped the boundary into Manitoba. Crews have struggled to contain it. Water bombers have been intermittently grounded due to heavy smoke and a drone incursion.
I wish people would stop running drones in an emergency area. Fucking idjits just want to be able to post to TikToc.
In BC it is dealt with swiftly and with heft: immediate 10k fine (up to $100k), you are on the hook for expenses caused by the drone interference, and you have to go defend yourself against spending a year in jail.

Then we have Scott Moe saying 90% of wild fires are caused by people, he gives no explanation of how he came to that number just that he did.
In Saskatchewan we have the biggest reserves of potash, luckily we have the ability to process it here. So not shipping unprocessed potash is a good thing. In Saskatchewan we also have massive reserves of Uranium but no way of processing it here so we are shipping unprocessed uranium out of the province so that a minuscule some of it can come back while the majority is sold elsewhere. In Saskatchewan we need to be able to process it and use it here if we want to do are part in fighting climate change. Sure growing the crops we grow takes CO2 out of the air but that is only during the growing months.
