The thought of a parent abandoning their child in the wilderness fills me with burning rage.

Max 5 years for abandoning a child in the middle of nowhere? How is it not at least on par with attempted murder?

I live 30 minutes from where they lived and I'm a parent, this affected me so much and I had lost all hopes when they found her dog dead along the highway. I cried from relief when I heard the news they found her alive today. I hope she gets all the help she can and that it doesn't scar her too much in the long run.

I have kids and they can push your limits, but the idea that she would abandon her child and basically be anticipting her death is disgusting. You are the adult. If you can't handle the child then go through the process of finding someone else to raise them.

I very much assumed the little girl was dead, either by her mother's hand or after being abandoned. So glad I'm wrong
