I'm glad people are enjoying it but it looks both boring and exhausting from what I've seen of it. I wonder if the playerbase will remain or if it's just the hype wave.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.
5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW
Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.
No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.
6. No linking to piracy
Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

It's basically offline Black Desert online from what I've seen, so that checks out
It’s a singleplayer game, right? It’s not going to be reliant on continued “playerbase”.
Oh of course not, I was just musing out loud. But I think maybe I just don't "get it" and am not in the target audience anymore. I think what made me understand what the game is is someone said that it's just an offline MMO. I think if I was still sixteen or something I might have been into dedicating the next six months to nolifing this game. But these types of games are just not for me anymore. I don't play any MMOs anymore for a reason.
this seems wierd to me. why not go the no mans sky route and make it a kind of online/offline mmo?
Honestly from the reviews, for me it's a patient gamer listing.
70 dollars to be a QA tester for a janky game. nope.
I'll wait for all the fixes and improvements, then.
Does look like a dope game though, probably a 50% off pick up for me in a year.
Shows that Metacritic rating should be ignored.
How does it show that? At all?
May as well go the No Man's Sky free update route; this would get them a lot of income in the long run. Since they all rely on variety as a gimmick.
