Hi all, Is there a way for me to block a particular domain no matter in which community it finds itself in? There are some news outlets that I just don't want to be polluted by.

Thanks!

I too want to know how to block exploding heads.

I have two lemmy accounts, but I find myself using this one most often because beehaw blocks the really bad instances. I really wish they'd implement this feature because I'd like to block the dedicated porn ones as well.

Here's a link to the feature request: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/2397#

We as admins would like this implemented too. It would help keep defederation to a minimum if the user has the power.

We're Defederated from exploding heads, you shouldn't see any content from that instance here.

If you use Lemmy Connect, there's a block keyword feature that could hide some posts from specific news outlets, provided the poster included the outlet's name in the title; but not everyone does this. But yeah, we'll have to wait until it's added to Lemmy proper or one of the apps add the feature. Sync for Lemmy should be coming out soon(maybe by the end of the month?) and I think it'll have this feature as it was a part of their Reddit app.

Unfortunately no.

As they get into your feed you gotta go to the instance and then block from the side bar. It usually isnt long before you eliminate the louder instances and then from there you can prune the stray bit that comes your way. Its what I did with the nsfw instances.

I don't want to block instances though, I want to block posts within any instance that link to specific domains.
