A community for your defence shitposting needs

Rules

1. Be niceDo not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.

2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes

If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Low-hanging fruit such as random Twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Matrix chat.

3. Content must be relevant

Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.

4. No racism / hatespeech

No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.

5. No politics

We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.

6. No seriousposting

We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.

7. No classified material

Classified ‘western’ information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.

8. Source artwork

If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.

9. No low-effort posts

No egregiously low effort posts. E.g. screenshots, recent reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Matrix chat instead.

10. Don't get us banned

No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

11. No misinformation

NCD exists to make fun of misinformation, not to spread it. Make outlandish claims, but if your take doesn’t show signs of satire or exaggeration it will be removed. Misleading content may result in a ban. Regardless of source, don’t post obvious propaganda or fake news. Double-check facts and don't be an idiot.

The fucking blade is facing the wrong way. Good job America.

Jokes on you these birds fly backward. Elon said it would be more efficient that way.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 days ago

When you fly the fuel gets depleted, so if you fly backward the fuel gets refilled instead

Ya fucked it. "Skil issue" was right there.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 5 days ago

Simply amazing 👏

that also makes the blade facing the right way, assuming the cut with the lower half.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago

It's cuz they are cutting metal with the wood blade.

We can't afford the metal blade.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 days ago

No you see it’s a bomber so it’s akshually the correct orientation for ground attack runs

Sacrifices had to be made in the name of aerodynamic efficiency

Sticking a wood blade on backwards is actually a semi-valid way of cutting sheet metal.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

I have also cut 8020 aluminum extrusion with just an ordinary miter saw.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Wouldn't it be easier to cut a plane underneath than above?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Also you can do strafing runs on aircraft carriers.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Well, it started out as one aircraft carrier. Not by the time you're done though!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Forward swept wings so it can maneuver faster, you're just looking at it the wrong way

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

That's the price of freedom.

The game “Air Brawl” on Steam is a dogfighting game with airplanes with different weapons. One of them has a big hammer you use to wack other airplane.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That would be a funny videogame. Air combat but it has to all be melee combat.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

A baseball bat sticking out of a P-51, an F-16 with a morning star, a foot with a kicking boot sticking out of an A-10...yeah I'll make that. sounds delightfully stupid.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 days ago

Not breaking news, slicing news.

A nice little movie that is starting to become a possibility.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 5 days ago

If it gets hit by a block of wood that has a few nails in it, it will jam and fall out of the sky.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Makita blade, so Japanese steel folded over a thousand times. Edit: never mind, it says Made in China.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Japanese innovating in melee aircraft again

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

Like all the best modern katanas!

Though now I'm wondering if there were any Japanese style sword smiths on the mainland.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

This would be fun as hell in a video game. High-speed aerial knife fights. Hell yeah!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 days ago

I'd pick this Jack of all trades

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

It looks like 40K is leaking again.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 days ago

Aerodinamically feasable, too credible. Downvote

Or fly upside down and you can provide VCAS.

  • I thought I read somewhere that vertical tails aren't very good from a stealth design standpoint. I would imagine that something similar would apply to gargantuan circular saws.

  • Landing that thing has got to be a bitch.

  • I have some supply-chain security questions regarding the "Made in China" label on the blade.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 5 days ago (1 children)

No need for stealth when you're cutting everything in half

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 days ago

Just cut through the radar waves smh
