Summary

Canadians are boycotting U.S. travel in response to Trump’s tariffs and policies. A recent survey found 59% are less likely to visit the U.S. this year, with 36% canceling trips.

Airlines report declining demand, and tourism-dependent regions like Florida and New York’s Thousand Islands are adjusting marketing strategies.

Some Canadians refuse to even transit through the U.S. Businesses in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda are benefiting from the shift.

Critics argue Trump’s policies are harming American tourism and local economies.

I work in a field where people travel to the U.S. for conferences very frequently, and while there isn’t as much of a decline as I had hoped, many are decreasing their visits or opting not to go entirely.

Oh the attacks have begun in earnest last night. If you've ever mentioned how fucked 'murica and their government is you will find yourself suddenly attacked by anti Canada posters today. It's everywhere. Don't fall for it.

Imagine being so pathetic that you pick on Canada.

That's like being angry because the forest has songbirds and you expected quiet.

I imagine this is astroturfing. Manufacturing consent for an invasion is starting to ramp up, and Russia would love nothing more than to see this expand to a fullblown conflict that occupies the West for a few years.

They’re preparing the narrative to "justify" the invasion.

It’s disgusting.

There are legitimate reasons to criticize Canada - its treatment of indigenous peoples, global pollution and human rights abuses by its mining companies, its carbon footprint per capita, etc. But these are the bits of Canada the Trumpists would like.
