So it starts. If this is successful and he can have them thrown in prison ( most like El Salvador like he wants) then he can disappear anyone who criticize him. We should be worried and fucking storming the fucking capital. Trump and his goons got to go.

Do it Americans. Jesus fucking Christ already. Your fucking population has more guns than people, an amendment to the constitution for this exact sort of thing, and instead of rising up, you’re sitting down on the couch watching Americas got talent.

Wake. The. Fuck. Up America!!!

I will say, that the lack of social services, social safety nets, and collective bargaining means that the first threat against your career and source of income immediately pacifies you.

Some other European countries that have those benefits don’t realize what kind of burden Americans are under. I am literally afraid of them starting to ‘loyalty test’ people in my profession for loyalty to ‘trump’ instead of the constitution and the presidency (as outlined by the constitution, instead of someone who wipes their hands with it).

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You have loyalty tests to the constitution at your workplace? o.0

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

Not who you replied to but they could very well be in some military/government field for that to reasonably apply.

The American "left" is less gun oriented or violence prone than those on the right.

We yielded that ground for an assortment of reasons. There is no credible left wing terroristic threat. There is on the right.

Different topics, but they rhyme.

Most of those guns are owned by people who love this shit. So you could say it kinda backfired

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

False. Let them believe that.

Narrator - the spineless amerikans used to talk big game when it comes to overthrowing a tyrannical government but its pretty clear they are just gonna bend the knee and take it in the ass without lube.

For a long time now, I've been worried for all the reporters, comedians, and late night hosts who are speaking out against Trump

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

More than got to go. They should be obliterated from existence.

[–] [email protected] 132 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Trump should have been tried for treason long ago

[–] [email protected] 65 points 3 days ago

And specifically insurrection on Jan 6th.

But here we are ducked by an incumbent opposition in an anti-proportional system.

Says the guy who kept classified documents by the loo.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago

Near a convenient place fax machine, wasn't it?

I mean, who doesn't have a fax machine in the toilet?!! I have 3 in every toilet!! The main one to send classified documents to, ermm, no one. And then two more as back ups if that one breaks down...or for when I need to send lots of classified documents quickly to, ermmmm, no one...!

“I don’t even know who that is” clearly means “this person has been living rent free in the forefront of my mind for as long as I can remember”.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

He could’ve meant, “I don’t even know who he is anymore” cause they used to be buddies.

[–] [email protected] 96 points 3 days ago

Nah, it's a president violating the first amendment that's treasonous.

Just throwing this out here to remind people that the Department of Homeland Security, DOJ, and DOD have all made some very alarming threats to employees they believe are speaking to the press. They also seem very eager to remove or weaken civil rights protections for everyone, including American citizens.

DHS Secretary Noem has complained that offices of civil rights within DHS interfere with the DHS mission on immigration. However, only two of the three offices Noem has attacked, deal with immigration

The third office is the office of civil rights and liberties within the DHS, and applies to all civil rights issues regardless of immigration or citizenship status.

Noem's attacks against Civil Rights Offices within DHS were made following statements that she plans to use polygraphs on ICE employees

You should be aware that many current ICE employees are federal employees who were removed from previous positions and have been diverted to ICE.

Diversion of federal employees is seen by many as a highly politicized move that first began in early February and seemed to be a blatant act of retaliation for January 6th investigations. Like a punishment for federal employees that they couldn't force to quit or legally fire.

Despite the fact that polygraphs are known to have high false positives rates, Noem said she plans to use polygraphs to root out individuals leaking information to the press. Noem's threat was followed by similar threats made against employees of the Dept. of Justice and Dept. of Defense.

Basically they are trying to crack down on dissent. Federal employees are witnessing them violate the law from the inside, and trying to warn the country what they are doing. If anyone should be charged with treason it should be the people actively dismantling democracy. Unfortunately, those are also the people who run the same country they are trying to destroy.

This is scary to me. Representative Jayapal (WA) set up a training on what can be legally done to resist. Hopefully there's some good info on action a regular person can take.

We are in a post-legal period.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I wouldn't go that far. Looking from a distance, the US is starting to look a lot like pre-2022 Russia. The government abuses the letter of the law to go against its spirit, and courts get progressively stacked with pro-govermnent cronies. So, while you can't expect a fair trial anymore, they are not openly ignoring the written law yet. Thus opens some venues of defense because the thugs on the ground often fuck up the paperwork.

The United States is occupied. This man is an enemy of the state. There's literally one way his ride is gonna end it's just where and when and what happens after that's up in the air.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 days ago

Every accusation he makes is an admission

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 days ago

Accusation, confession, no justice, yadda yadda

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago

Calling me an idiot? Treason.

Selling classified information to a foreign government? Well that's just good business.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Once again, they claim that something is "all lies" and "complete fiction" while simultaneously claiming that it is classified information.... Which is it? They can't have it both ways. This is pure fascism. How are people so blind.

See y'all in Valhalla or CECOT.

May the gods have mercy on our souls.

Big words coming from a man of treason. Guess he knows he's a traitor, given he projects everything.

Praise and worship him or you will be punished!

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

When I visited Cuba, I found it super creepy that they were selling CDs with the title "Singing Songs to Che Guevara" that looked like Christian worship music praising Che instead of Jesus. I expect this will happen soon with Trump in the US, if it hasn't already.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

I expect this will happen soon with Trump in the US, if it hasn’t already.

LMAO as a child of Cuban immigrants, I can assure you that there are already plenty of Cuban Americans in this country worshipping Trump as if he were Jesus. My grandfather had a portrait of him on his nightstand before he passed, right next to his beloved grandchildren (although tbf he was in the early stages of dementia at the time)

Whichever candidate accuses the other of being a communist first wins that privilege in the mind of the Cuban immigrant. Republicans have been winning that game since the first balsero landed in Miami. There's a spanish language radio station here called Radio Mambi which is an endless stream of the worst pro-Trump propaganda imaginable.

It's equal parts scary and depressing. These people escaped one authoritarian regime and are now flocking to another. It legit makes me ashamed.

So, who will be America's Navalny?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

"I know you are, but what about the critic?"

If this guy gets arrested and keeps his freedom, the book deal may be worth more than the lawsuit.

Was he talking about himself?
