Biggest shame here is that, after a mere two decade career during which he accomplished almost nothing, he'll collect a pension of over $200k per year.

[–] wise_pancake 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, I want that pension.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 hours ago

Fuckin' seriously. I don't know how anyone could look at that and think he's at all in touch with the common working person.

Hw can move to Arizona and live near his BFF Peterson and they can podcast into the manosphere ether while taking their Andrew Huberman supplements doing their Wim Hof ice baths eating nothing but red meat and salt watching their crypto investments and stonks tank.

It's OK, I'm sure he can retire with a full pension and never have to worry about working again. Or if he still wants to work, I'm sure a MAGA think tank that wants to align with the Maple MAGAts will offer him a job to help him convince Canadians to Annex. Or maybe Smith has a job for him. Chief boot licker perhaps?

He now has time to focus on his wood based you tube channel, you know how much he loves wood? IYKYK

[–] [email protected] 6 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

the last time I heard about someone having a weird obsession with wood, it was people making fun of the Russian war criminal Sergei Shoigu and his wood carving / varnishing hobby

If you haven't yet, you should check out one of those vids. do your sanity a favour and don't watch too long

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Im assuming you're talking about Pierre, I have no interest in watching Shoigu unless its the announcement that he got merked.

[–] lost_faith 2 points 11 hours ago

Yes, talking bout pp. Like I said, don't watch too much or you may lose a bit of sanity lol

So how does it work if the leader of the official opposition doesn't get elected in his riding? Does he still get to show up to Parliament, and just bide his time until a by-election?

[–] [email protected] 20 points 15 hours ago

He gets to sit in the guest box, just like Mark Carney had to do before he won a seat. He has to sign in like a common plebian just like you or me. And he gets to collect his pension, just like his arch nemesis Jagmeet...

[–] [email protected] 13 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Sort of. They choose a house leader who has a seat until he wins a seat. No he can't go to Parliament. He doesn't get a salary from the tax payers.

Could he just retire and collect pension ?

[–] HikingVet 4 points 14 hours ago

That would be ideal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

His campaign of the past six weeks would have won him the election if it weren't for his campaign of the past two years getting in the way.

[–] HikingVet 10 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

His campaign of the last six weeks was him scrambling because he couldn't adjust to a change. It was him showing he was nothing but a blowhard.

I'm glad he is unemployed.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 13 hours ago

His whole political career was him showing that he was nothing but a blowhard, but somehow people didn't notice until the wind shifted.
